It was soccer wednesday and finally a chess ♟️♟️♟️ in my house as a gift to my son from abacus maths competition.

I always dream for wednesdays to come. Yes, the addition of soccer to our workout programs is a blessing to us as it has helped us all to discover and improve our skills in football especially myself.

I used to play football in my village during my primary school days. We do play against other schools. And during my secondary school days, we also played against other schools. In most cases, we play home and abroad. What this means is that during December when those at the city came back to the village, we form team based on those at home and those that just came back. It is usually very fun and I am usually part of it.

So adding football game as part of exercise programs just brought back those memories to me. Hence, this Wednesday's football was one of its kind.

Football Wednesday

I woke and got ready for the workout. I did my morning usuals before leaving, making sure that the kids have something to eat as breakfast. I left to the vanue and met the NYSC members in our group already exercising. They come early to exercise so that they can go early for school. They are teachers and because the playground is very close to their school, they are taking advantage of that. As soon as I got there, I gave them programs to take part in before their time will be over.

I also had a new member that just joined that same day. I had to admit him and gave him programs that suits him as a newbie. He really felt the impact

Other members came and undertook their own programs. We concluded by 8.00 am and moved to football ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽. As usual, @fifapresido arranged the goal posts with the tires as well as the margins. He and Saviour, our new member too choose those that will be on their sides. I was chosen by fifapresido and we wore the yellow jersey. We played 30 minutes on both first and second half. But in the end, we lost the game. We were defeated. It ended 2:1 in favour of those on blue jersey. We did all we could but couldn't equalise. It was great though. After all, last week, I was part of the team that won by 5 goals to 1.

We dismissed after the football game but not until we enjoyed the little refreshments that 2 of our members sponsored. It was groundnuts and malt drink. I am grateful to them.

I quickly went to our junction and kept my bag and headed to the city plaza. For what? You may want to know. Well, I sent a parcel to my brother in the USA since May and up until now, he hasn't gotten it. It was a course for worry. Trying to track it using the tracking number was in vain. I went there and reported the case to them. They used their staff login to check and saw the parcel there with the USA agency in charge. They told me not to worry that he will receive it next week. However, they gave me their contact number to call them in case he didn't get it.

My mind is at rest at the moment. At least the parcel is their with them over their, waiting to get to them. I pray it gets to them before the day they plan to use the content for their regional convention that will come up on August this year. I sent the parcel via EMS parcel Nigeria.

At Home

At home, I quickly freshened up and then ate my breakfast but it is now lunch because it was already noon. I then started washing my workout outfit as well as all the jersey that were used for playing soccer game.

I had to disinfect all as I was washing them to keep them safe for use.

I was done by 4:30 pm. Immediately, my kids came back with a happy mood. What could it be?

Chess finally in my house

It was like a dream come true. My son had longed for chess for a long time but we were yet to get it. But how did he get it now?

Well, my son was selected among other kids in their school to represent the school on Abacus maths competition with over 30 schools. He also went last year but didn't make it to the final stage. So this time around, he decided that he will put in more efforts to be able to get to the final stage.

My son spent sleepless nights and denied himself of some pleasures in order to win. He even used his steem money to pay for the registration as demanded by the school.

On the said day which was last week Saturday, they went for it. Happily, he didn't only make it to the final stage but took 4th position out of the 30 schools. His school took 1st position the last time but this time around, his school took both 3rd and 4th and he happened to be the 4th. He was very excited! They gave out gifts there and then to 1st to 3rd position and his own gift was to be given him in the school.

He was hoping to receive his gift but didn't know exactly what it will be. This day which is my diary game day, he was given a small size chess, a foldable one. He came back with it and announced it to me from at doorstep even before entering the house. He was so excited about it

He opened it immediately and started learning how to play it by reading the manual. My daughter also joined and they played there and then before going to have their lunch. You can imagine the excitement!

After their lunch, they played a cartoon they downloaded in my old phone titled Elementals and I joined them in watching it. I enjoyed it though but trust me, I was not fully concentrating because of other engagements I had online but I was watching from time to time and can still tell what happened in the cartoon. We have the fire, water and other elements. But the major characters were fire and water. The story in details will be better told by my kids. I don't know if they will write on it. But I felt sleepy and left them to complete it.

That was it for my day. It was a wonderful day for me too as it was filled with excitements. Thank you all for reading through.
