After visiting schools that accepted that we deliver the food aid to the kids in their schools, we agreed that cooked food be given. I knew it was going to be a very hectic week for me but, I love challenges.
With the cash available, I quickly went to the market on Wednesday to purchase the foodstuffs that I will prepare on Friday that we decided to carry out the project. I bought stuffs for fried rice, chicken and told Okere-blessing to help me buy cucumber that Friday while coming.
I made arrangements for firewood as well because I will be cooking with firewood. It will be faster for me and besides, I don't have a gas burner that will carry the big pot I will use for the cooking.
Olon Thursday night, my husband helped to get the chicken ready while I prepared it that evening for frying in the morning.
By 4 am, I woke up on that Friday. I was angry because I planned to wake up earlier. Additionally, I expected power holders to give us light but they didn't. It was stressful but I had to do it with joy remembering that the kids will smile if this food gets to them. I woke my husband up to assist me and he did.
We made fire in 2 places to be faster. I placed the rice on one and fried chicken on the order. Before 6.30 am, I was through. I quickly dressed up and went out for workout.

This school was started by a parent I know too well. She started it as a result of the fact that the kids were out of school due to lack of school fees. She was also teaching but for some reasons, she lost her teaching job. It became very difficult to feed the kids and send them to school. Become she has the teaching skills, she started a lesson session for the kids and some other kids around her neighbourhood during holidays.
When schools reopened, she continued the lesson for her kids using the school curriculum. In time, some other parents who couldn't afford their kids school fees decided to enroll their wards with her in exchange for a little fee. She kept growing and building the school until they aew upto 40 now. She is currently partnering with someone that has a building and now, they are 3 teachers. The kids there are pitiable. Most of them are without school uniform, school materials and some came without food.
All the same, we went there and were able to serve the kids there first. Yea, due to the number, I planed to visit 2 schools the same day.

After this school, we went to the next school. This second school is another small school that is still growing. They are 77 in number. The admin of the first school had connected me with this second school when I told her that we can't be able to attend to her school because the kids are few. She told me about this and went and checked it out and found it to be so.
The second school is DEVINE WISDOM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS. The kids were called out and we served them one after the other.

As soon as we got there, the kids were called out and they lined up to receive their own food. It was a wonderful thing to be to put smiles on the faces of these kids that really need this help. They were so excited to see us and receive the aid.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
You spent your day very nicely and took charge of feeding the school children. And your cooking was great. You cooked in a wood stove and it seemed so fast to you. However I also agree with you. You help the children a lot and give a lot of care and food. What I think is your endurance. Keep going and be there for the kids. Wish you good health always. Stay healthy and keep the kids healthy.

The kids must be very happy, I keep on imagining if I was in their shoes and how I would have reacted. I really love this #actofkindness project. Please keep it up.
