Weekly Drawing Contest|| Week #31 Begins: Draw A Duck 🦆

This duck drawing contest is organized by @eliany of the Steem Kids & Parents community, and it is my pleasure taking part in it.

DUCK

Duck is among the creative work of God. They are among the classes of bird animal known as Anas Platyrhynchos. Because of the characteristic of being found around water, ponds and marshy areas makes them known as waterfowl birds.

Description of Duck

Ducks are waterfowl aquatic birds from the Anatidae family which are characterized by broad, flat bills and specialized webbed feet for the purpose of swimming.

Types of Duck

Generally, Ducks are classified into three major groups known as dabbling (shallow-water), diving, and perching ducks, and these classifications is based on their characteristic behaviours. The mallard, a typical dabbling duck, is one of the most popular amongst the game birds. Ducks are fun of making a unique sound known quacking.

Feeding Habits of Duck

Ducks feed on worms, insects, waste food particles, small amphibians, and small molluscs. They also filter out insects and worms from running water, muddy water and swamp water.

Ducks Importance to man and their uses

Basically, ducks serves as meat use in food for man and their large eggs also is a good source of protein. Because if rearing duck in large quantities in African continent, they are being sold as food thereby becoming a good source of income. In some lands, the big eggs are use by herbalist to make charms.
Their nutritional value for man is second to non such as; Fat, Calories, Protein, Sodium, Iron, selenium, Omega 3 fatty acids and Fiber.

Could they be dangerous to man?

Of course, whatever have advantage will equally have some side effect. Someone can be infected with psittacosis from a duck carrying Chlamydia psittaci through their fesses dropping. They could be a source for contaminating water which might cause Avian Influenza, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Colibacillosis, Eastern Equine Encephalitis and the likes.

Drawing My Duck

To draw the duck, I use the following items:
• An A4 plain paper
• A pencil
• An Eraser

A4 paper serves as my canvas, drawing and shading will be done using the pencil, of course I need the eraser in case of cleaning out errors.

Step 1

My drawing material

I begins the drawing from the head.

Step 2

I then extend the drawing to the body

Step 3

I completed the body and extend the drawing to the two legs

I apply shading to the duck with the pencil

Step 4

Then I draw the young bill following the mother duck

Step 5

I complete drawing my duck, then sign my username and it is time for a selfie.
