Greetings to everyone in this amazing community. We are back again for the 5th week of this wonderful engagement challenge and am to be a partaker. Charity is one word and action that has kept the world alive. So many people at different points in time did charitable work that its effect went into diaspora. Now let's attend to the questions regarding the topic of discussion.

▶️ What is your view about charity and do you believe that it should begin at home?

Charity as a word or an action is very undisputable and puts smiles on the faces of those it is done to. There is no other better way to touch and impact lives than charity. Humanity cannot strive in the absence of charity hence, the hope and survival of the poor, less privileged, and the handicapped lies on our charity.

As festivity is in the air, it is the most appropriate time to try a little kindness, shining our light for everyone to see. While others are celebrating and jubilating some are not because they do not have anyone to demonstrate love and kindness to them, they are left all to themselves. Such people require charity.

If such kind of people as mentioned above should be shown love and kindness via charity, the gap will be bridged and they would share in the joy of the time. Therefore, such kind of a ceremonial season is a big shot for acts of kindness and charity. There are people around our home and environment who require our charity, so it is a perfect time to reach out to them.

Charity of course should begin from home. Almost everything has a commencement point, for charity, it is the home. Generosity that is never done or displayed in one's own home is nothing but irresponsibility. Our family or home should reflect the philanthropy we display outside otherwise, we are just being infidels.

If our philanthropy or charity originates from the home, then what we do outside is without any ulterior motive, and then we will know the basis of what we do.

▶️ What is the motivating factor for charity work and is it good to broadcast what you have done for others

Different people have different motivating factors for their charitable works. Some engage in charity with ulterior motives, while others are political. These are aimed at getting fame or to show off one's wealth. It is not motivated by love, kindness, and or heartfelt pity for the less privileged.

Our social class and financial standards are not the same. While some are just comfortable, others are in excess, and some are barely existing and surviving. There are people in various orphanages, there are people with disabilities, and these are the people who need our charity.

The desire to help people ameliorate their living situation or standard, the sympathy to resuscitate, and the enthusiasm to help people out of their sad condition should be the motivating factor for the works charity. By so doing, we will positively impact humanity and leave indelible prints in the lives of many.

I am and will never ever be in support of public display or broadcasting of charitable works. Such an attitude can be characterized as a public show of privacy which makes no sense. The privacy of the people who receive our charities should be protected. A broadcast of our charity implies a disclosure of what should have been privacy.

▶️ When was the last time you carried out charity work for the members of your home

Every day for me is charity because seeing another day in good health is worth being happy and happiness can trigger charity. Anyway, we are in the Christmas period, a time when there is too much exhibition of love and charity, and sure enough, I carried my family along.

My home was the first beneficiary of my charity as I ensured, in my strength, that every member received a package and also brought everyone together with an exceptional meal at the dining table. It was fun and indeed a memorable one. I also extended an arm to my immediate neighbors.

My colleagues in the office also are beneficiaries of my charity. I did the little I could for some of whom I know so much need what I did for them. I didn't do my charity because I have so much but because I know I can share the little I have with people around me who really need arms.

My church is another place I did charity. Some old widows and aged people, children were my targets. I was happy I could put smiles on their faces as God helped me. And I know their prayers would go a long way for me.

▶️ Your advice to others about charity

Charity is a good thing to do, both the beneficiary and the benefactor are seen to be happy at the end of the exercise. The benefactor feels fulfilled while the beneficiary feels lifted. We should learn to give arms to those who are in need no matter how small.

We should not wait until we've gotten heaven and earth or amassed great wealth before we begin to do charity work. The little we have can go a long way to put smiles on the faces of some people and restore life to them. It is also important to point out that some people depend on us for their survival.

Whatever the case may be, we must put our family first. They are our primary responsibility and must not be neglected. Any charity void of our homes is irresponsible, our praises should be sung from the home.

Thank you everyone for reading through.
