Introduction

Steemit has been one of the most educative platform I've joined so far as it bring us to learning new things every day from different perspective.
In view of that, I want to appreciate ma'am @ngoenyi for organizing yet another mind blowing contest here on @steemkidss

In that regard, I am @patience90 from Nigeria and we have two (2) seasons each year known as rainy (summer) and dry season (winter) and for the sake of this contest, I'll use the term summer to drive down my point.

Summer here in Nigeria can be refered to as rainy season which occurs between the months of April to October each year.

There are a lot of changes that occur during Summer

Weather

The weather during this season is hot though sometimes it gets cold around August because of the constant rain which is also preparing us for the dry season (winter).
This is also planting/farming season for most of our crops such as groundnuts, maize, potatoes, melon, etc.
It is also the season of mangoes and a lot of vegetables.
Though it's the season of foods production, but I dread it because I hate heat which comes with it, and I also dislike muddy and smelly environment.

Businesses

During this season, people become more dehydrated easily because of the loss of water through sweat that we produce therefore making a lot of people crave and drink a lot of water and other liquids.
That also help the business owners to have more customers until August which comes with excess water.

Though the weather affect banana sellers by making the bananas to ripen too fast even without the consumption of the already ripped ones

People's Behaviour

People's behaviour changes especially by craving and looking for any available places to cool off.
Sometimes when I enter places where there is AC, I don't wish to come out again just to avoid heat.
Some people walk shirtless due to heat and others carry handfans everywhere just to fan some air to themselves.
I have observed that people become aggressive due to the weather conditions and I bet you also observed that.

School

This is the period where students/pupils resume for their 3rd term session in school to study and write promotional exams to the next classes.
Mostly the 3rd term starts from April to June the new session (1st term) begins September to December.
So there are a lot of graduation ceremonies, speech and prize given days to mark the end of academic calendar.

Travelling

Travelling at this time especially when it is raining can be dangerous because rain might be blocking the view of the driver and also, weeds tends to grow tall there by, obstructing the driver from seeing distance incase something bad is coming.

Conclusion

Summer is that season we can't do without and God saw it right to make it so to enable us have a balance nature.
I wish to invite @desiredlsdy, @pesh21 and @debaron to participate in the contest.

Hi @patience90, I likeed reading through your entry. I always thought that summer is the dry season but I just saw in your post that it is the rainy. Below you can see the phrase I found in your post:

Summer here in Nigeria can be refered to as rainy season which occurs between the months of April to October each year.

Tell me, do you think it is true that summer refers to rainy or dry season in Nigeria. I'm getting a bit confused here
Thanks for your entry anyway
