Dreams…

We can have dreams when we are sleeping and we can have dreams about our feelings. Those dreams about someone or something.

I can remember my mom telling us as children that the dreams we dream at night is only “pictures” . It is us going to the movies and it is not real. Some movies we like and some movies we don’t like and it is exactly the same with these dreams.

She will then look at us and pull wide eyes… “Then you get those special dreams. Those dreams which makes you ride clouds.” They are our childhood dreams.

I invite you to ride some clouds with me today…

My childhood dreams

Laying on the grass on grandpa’s farm with my nephews and nieces was always special. We would look up into the blue sky at the puffy clouds telling the others what we’re seeing.

The girls always saw hearts and was dreaming of becoming teachers. The boys on the other hand saw fast cars and animals, dreaming of farms which will make them rich one day.

I was always the odd one out. I saw the world, the big white house in America, the shoe of Italy, kangaroos jumping in Australia, the big wall in China, the beaches of the world and I was wondering if there was a city behind the clouds.

I was dreaming of seeing the world one day. I didn’t want to do it as a teacher nor a farmer no, my dream of becoming a truck driver was going to put the world at my feet.

Was I supported in my childhood dreams?

Oh no, a girl as a truck driver and a girl travelling the world was taboo those days. It was absolutely forbidden, improper and unacceptable in our society. My dad made it clear that I can take a duster and dust the clouds away.

Did it stop me from supporting my dreams?

Not at all. In fact it made me even more determine to reach for those dreams. There was always something to read about the big wide word in dad’s newspaper and there were ample books on the countries of the world and trucks in our school library.

I made sure that I kept my dreams alive.

Not all childhood dreams comes true

I have learned that as the clouds in the blue sky change so does our childhood dreams.

  • Elvis Presley dreamed of performing as an artist in the circus
  • Albert Einstein dreamed about being an artist

Me? I was no different. As I got older I realized that my childhood dreams has changed.
New clouds formed and new dreams were built.

Maybe it started with my dad making sure from his side I was not going to be a truck driver or maybe it was just me seeing bigger and better clouds forming.

My dream of becoming a truck driver was no longer a priority and not even a dream as I grew older. With every wind that blew it changed and was replaced.

In the end I became an entrepreneur and business women.

Cloud3.png

Am I living my best childhood dream?

Yes! I am!

Through every white and fluffy cloud, dark and mysterious cloud I hang onto my dream to see the world. The childhood dream I never let go off.

Today I can say that I am living my best childhood dream. Nothing matter, not time and not storms.

᠅ I have seen the White House in America.

᠅ I have seen kangaroos hopping in Australia.

᠅ I have seen different beaches of the world

᠅ I have been to twelve countries over the last few years and I am planning to see many more!

I have learned over the years that if you are committed to your childhood dreams you can achieve them. It might take some time and effort but you can make it happen.

It all depends on how you are steering that cloud.

Cloud3.png

Have I learned from my childhood dreams?

For sure!

  • Many childhood dreams get lost as we grow up but opportunities are always there
  • It is never too late to make your childhood dreams come true
  • Your childhood dreams are the way and measurements to your success in life

Keep on looking at the clouds of the sky and keep on dreaming!

Truly childhood dreams got lost or disappear as we grew up, it is the same thing that happened to me.

Immediately I saw your post that no one supported you to be a truck driver, I just put myself in that condition and I know my mother will never allow me also. I'm so happy to hear that you are able to achieve your dream. Thank you for sharing and Good luck with the contest.

Thank you for your reply, your visit and your support. It is appreciated 🌼
As we grow older we get to form and change dreams like we want to as time is running out…

Wow, great content, we've shared and upvoted on @southernafrica

Your dreams as a child were powerful with the reasons you gave, I can imagine your parents reactiins towards their child wanting to be a truck driver. In the end, everyone can dream but not all dreams make it to reality. I am glad to read yout childhood story and for inviting me, I will make my entry soon.

Thank you for engaging! I was hoping your were and I was hoping to see your reply that you will give this engagement challenge a go. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Wow! To be sincere, candid, factual, and whatever, this is well written, the best, and accurate. You said and i quote: "Me? I was no different. As I got older I realized that my childhood dreams has changed. New clouds formed and new dreams were built".

This is actually the truth everyone needs to know that [childhood] dreams do change, either Intentionally or unintentionally.

And whether you have someone supporting your dream or not does not matter here, but what matters is the actualization of that dream, any how, anywhere. It's God who make a dream come to pass, not by human support, or your effort. Your story touched my heart, and i love to read it till the end.

Thanks for this wonderful, short, grammar error-free writeup. I rate you No1. Your introduction and references show that you took your time, with patience, to craft this for the benefit of the readers and not for the reward. Well-done! Good job. ✅

Nice write up ma’am the most important know is our dreams can delay but it can never be denied as far as one is striving hard to achieve the dreams .

Hello! Thank you for engaging with my post.
You have nailed it! Dreams can be delayed but not denied!
Dreams is not only in our minds but also in our hearts and hands.(•ิ‿•ิ)

It is never too late to make your childhood dreams come true

I like this wise word so much. The opportunity to make dreams come true is always there. Keep positive thinking and make our dreams comes true.
🥰🥰🥰

The only thing is that as we get older the time to achieve the dreams become shorter.
Thank you for engaging my friend! It is appreciated. 🎕

It all depends on how you are steering that cloud.

Even if you are unable to become a truck driver, you have been to twelve countries. You pointed your clouds in that direction. You are an inspiration to me, and I hope you will visit many more countries in the future.

Thank you for the support my friend! 🎕
I must tell you, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India is three cricket countries on my bucket list. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Who knows.. maybe one day.

If it is Sri Lanka, you are warmly welcomed to my country.

Thank you my friend! 🎕

Oh my, oh my, firstly, exploring 12 countries is 😱, which are remaining, White House America, Australia, very far continent, oh I love beaches,

Ma'am you must be an explorer, I dream of Switzerland, I love that country, have you been there, if my dream as a pilot had come to reality, I would have flown to many countries including Switzerland.

Thank you for landing your plane on my post. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Nope, I have not been to Switzerland but would also like to pay it a visit. I am planning to tour Europe the end of the year. So yah, fingers cross!
Thank you for the visit my friend!

Oh my, you must be some boss
😭Do you need a hand bag, I'm kinda flexible to take all around..

Haha!

Exactly the idea is to chase the clouds sooner or later any opportunity is the signal to fulfill our.

It's never too late, we dream, let's decree happiness!

Cheers!

“Chase the clouds” I like this!
It is never too late but often we have to change our dreams as we are running out of time😊
Thank you for engaging with my post!

If the changes are not bad either, successes in each tour!

Cheers!

In the end I became an entrepreneur and business women.

Childhood dreams sometimes are big illusions as we grow older we begin to see life and just like you said, new clouds begin to form..smiles. you ended up a business woman which you never saw form inception and am sure you're enjoying it. It also good to know you have experience some of the things you envisaged too. Thanks for sharing.

It is for me to say thank you for your encouragement with my post.
Dreams, illusion but also reality. We can just blow hard enough to change the forms of the clouds.
Indeed, I enjoyed being a business women😊

Your story is so heart touching base on the fact that no one supported you but still you were able to actualize your dreams. You are actually a strong woman.

It's true most of our childhood dreams don't come to pass, as we grow older things around us always changes and sometimes our dreams may not be that which God wanted for us. Best of luck ma'am.

Thank you for reading and engaging with my post. 🎕
I was not supported just because I had different ideas. It just shows that we don't always have to go with the flow.
We are all our own individual and we all have our own childhood dreams. All that we can do it is to hold onto them. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Woow woow your story about your childhood dreams is fashionable and interesting.

I myself wonder as your dad because I couldn't imagine you being a truck driver. If I was in your dad's shoe, I will do same. However, what is important is that your job occupation today is pretty cool because you are a business woman and an entrepreneur which is also what you love so much.

I'm also glad that though you didn't finally become a truck driver, you still achieve most of your childhood dreams like seeing the Whitehouse in America, seeing the Kangaroo 🦘 in Australia, travelling to so many countries and seeing so many beautiful beaches.. woow bravo 👏 I envy you alot mom... You got quite an interesting story here

Thank you for your kind words my friend. 🤛🏻
I’ve worked hard for whai I’ve achieved. There is unfortunately no easy road to sucess.
In the process I sacrificed my first marriage. So yah, there is always a tail to a story 😊

In the process I sacrificed my first marriage

Ooops so sorry 😔 to hear about this but God alone had better plans for you and here are you today happily married with kids and living a happy and healthy marriage life..

Indeed! (•ิ‿•ิ)

I've learned something from your post, if I'm committed to my childhood dreams then it will surely become a reality! Thanks for sharing with us ma'am, most of yours has come true!

It might not always come out 💯 but it can get pretty close to that 😊
Thank you for engaging with my post. You never fail in doing so

It's my pleasure!

Greetings friend, you have made a beautiful participation in this contest. You have an exquisite writing style, I love your way of narrating and telling. I bet it was difficult to grow up in an environment where your dreams were not the "right" ones for society, but you grew up to be able to fulfill your eagerness to travel around various places in the world, which is really beautiful and inspiring...I share the same dream and hope to fulfill it someday as you did. Many blessings ❤️

Thank you for reading and engaging with my post.
Your words made me feel special, thank you🌼
A compliment goes a long way.
I’ve just read your entry and I applaud you for rescuing animals. It is a heavenly gift you have received.
As for travelling… I’ve realised that I have seen so little of my own country. Maybe that is where we should plan our next trips, @home 😊

The girls always saw hearts and was dreaming of becoming teachers. The boys on the other hand saw fast cars and animals, dreaming of farms which will make them rich one day.

This so marvelous and wonderful to see that what you thought of actually came to pass because looking at the clouds with the definition of what you had in mind absolutely came to pass .
Traveling to visit the white house and going to do many countries at a very short period of time mean God is in control and many more travel are still to come.
But I think your dad didn't do things right seeing you as a driver show so much inspiration in you but looking at you job now ,I must say it pretty good ,a business woman and and entrepreneur at that shown a great and remarkable achievement which is also what you have always love doing

God is indeed in contol. The beauty is that he gave us the talents to take our dreams and to make them a reality. It all depends on what and how we tackle it.
Thank you for engaging with my post 🌼

Your are highly welcome anytime and anymoment

Oh my! You had beautiful dreams and it's beautiful to be living your best dreams ever.

I still holds beautiful dreams of traveling and I know I'm working towards that though some dreams don't really come as we plan but I wish I accomplish the one I'm having now.

I teach my kids that it's okay to have many dreams and more so, it's beautiful to work hard to realize them.
Best of wishes to this contest 🌹

Hold onto those dreams and never let go of it!
You are teaching your kids absolutely the right thing.
Thank you for reading an engaging with my post 🌼

You have achieved well behind your childhood dreams :-)

Thank you!! 🤛🏻

Although you did not achieve your dream of being a truck driver, you have been able to visit many countries and places that you dreamed of in your childhood.

You have been a determined person, and with a view to achieving your goals; That has led you to visit many countries and realize your dreams.

Successes in the contest.

Thank you for reading my post, engaging with it and for the kind words! It is appreciated.
Whatever we do we cannot let go of our dreams as they might just be the beginning of so many more. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Oh wow, what a beautiful entrance... while I was reading I imagined you in your truck traveling the world. It was the way the girl found to travel, but as her world expanded, she realized that there were more ways. As well as more clouds.
I loved that you narrated everything with the innocence of a child, you made your girl speak.
I love reading you 😍

Thank you friend! It warms my heart that you love reading my posts. 🎕
Ps. I love writing!

Reading this post brought a smile of hope and courage to my face. Dreams can be achieved if we work towards it, I'm more encouraged by your examples.
Traveling to those countries and seeing those beautiful things is super cool...

I've noticed that things always work out well for you, you mind sharing the secret...?

I can imagine the despair your parents must have felt having their daughter have dreams that were exclusively “masculine”.

If it were an African home or the southern part of Nigeria where most inhabitants are predominantly Christians and you were “fortunate” enough to be born to overzealous devotees, your mom, especially would have rushed you to a prayer house where the prophet [ess] will pray for you. They will engage in glossolalia and kabash until the supposed evil spirit looming in your head and over your destiny will die by fire, hailstone and brimstone.

You would have to drink Goya Oil morning, afternoon and evening for rapid deliverance. 😅

Let me stop here because you will roll with laughter if I continue.

Haha! You already got me laughing.
Over the last few months I have read all about "Goya Oil" to know exactly what you are saying. No thank you! 🙈
I'm so glad I grew in the south of Africa.
Thank you my friend! You made my day!

I love the way we practise religion here😅

Hello friend @patjwell, what you say is true, when I go this girl has many dreams, some come true but others do not.

but as we grow and see life, everything changes our owners.

I laughed because you wanted to be a truck driver, that's good, but it's hard work, you know what it's like to drive down the highways sleeping badly for every stop where the night catches you.
but it is also true when you finish saying these words.

It's never too late to make your childhood dreams come true.
Your childhood dreams are the path and steps to your success in life.
Keep looking at the clouds in the sky and keep dreaming!

thank you for sharing your dreams.🤗❤️🙏

Hello my friend!! We haven't said hello for a long time. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Thank you for your visit to my blog and your great reply. As always it is appreciated!
Dreams is what forms us and we need to hold onto them tightly.
Wishing you a beautiful day!

yes friend, it is good to dream.
I liked your way of describing dreams. Well, we don't talk to each other because we're on other things and it consumes our time. suas the day is gone.raoido.
