Wednesday – What is the correct sentence? – Mini contest #10

in hive-139765 •  2 months ago

Hello SteemKids and Parents!

When we talk about "sound in words," we're generally thinking about the spoken language and how it is perceived by the ear.

There are a few factors that can influence how we “hear” the sound. For today, I share four of them with you.

Phonemes: For example, the words "bat" and "pat" differ by one phoneme /b/ vs. /p/.

Pronunciation: This is normally how the word is spoken with a dialect or accent.

Syllables: For instance, "computer" has three syllables: "com-pu-ter" and this is what we hear. If it had two syllables, we would hear "com-puter."

Intonation and stress: Intonation is the rise and fall of our voices right through a sentence where stress is related to us placing emphasis on certain syllables or words.

I am sure you can think of some more. Think what happens with poetry.

Did you know that the sound ‘ee’ can be spelled in seven different ways?

"He believed Caesar could see people seizing the seas"

Now it is time for the results of contest #9.
Just a reminder that the answer is sent to the admin of the community prior to the contest.

Now, what is the correct sentence?

Memories of her early childhood came back to her with haunting vividness.

Well, my “bones” were not right last week, as we still don’t have a winner, although there were two entries that were so so close!

Of importance, the more entries we get, the better the chances are for a winner.

Then a tip from me. Is it really the early bird that catches the worm?

Time to play!

The contest

I am going to give you a scrambled sentence that you must unscramble. In other words, by using all the words, you must place the words in the correct order so that they form a sentence that makes sense.

How to participate?

  • You can reply to this post by posting your sentence, or you can write a quality post of 300+ words with the sentence in it. By writing a post, you can double your earnings if you are a winner.

What is up for grabs?

The first correct answer will take home 12 STEEM and if you have written a post I will double the winnings and you can take away 24 STEEM.

Just to be fair, the correct answer is send to the admin of the community prior to the start of the game.

The sentence and the winner will be announced next week on Wednesday; therefore, make sure you don't send in your answer later than Tuesday 23:59 UTC.

Wow 😮.

I had this option among the others which I could have added, but since I wasn't sure, I decided to leave this particular one behind and went ahead with the option I choosed. 😩

I don't even know how I felt immediately I saw this Memories of her early childhood came back to her with haunting vividness. as the correct answer to the puzzle.

I which we can try with at least 3 options in a particular contest.

Am still going to try again this week 🤗.

Wow! Moral of the story: go with your instincts.

As for multiple guesses, it will make the contest just too easy. By the way, it is far better to win 12 or 24 STEEM than only 2 or 4. (•ิ‿•ิ)
