Hello amazing kids and parents how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a nice and wonderful day, as for me I'm perfectly fine.

Today I will be submitting my entry in participation in an amazing contest organize by @moyeon here in steem kids & parents community which has the theme "Importance Of Co-education"

What Is The Meaning Of Co-education?

Co-education can simply be defined as an educational system in which both genders which includes boys and girls are allowed to attend, in other words Co-education can also be seen as a school, college or university that is attended by both boys and girls.

Co-education is an educational system that is very common in our society today and all boys/girls educational center are becoming very rear and scarce to find

Which Education You Will Prefer For Your Kids ? Coeducational Centres Or All Boys /All Girls Educational Centres?

Basically I would prefer a Co-educational school system more than a all boys / all girls educational center in a sense that a Co-educational school system doesn't encourages any form of gender discrimination which was very common in our society in the old days.

Because basically in Nigeria mostly in the northern part of the country girls education wasn't considered to be important as the beliefed the girls were to get married and stayed in their husbands kitchen.

So a Co-educational school system has really helped in eradicating this traditional beliefs our people use to believe in some time ago and has help in giving both genders equal opportunities in life through education.

How Does Coeducational Centres Play Role In Developing Personality Of A Child ?

A Co-educational school centers plays a very important role in developing the personalities of a child through the exposure to the opposite gender which has helped build in them a sense of self control.

For example being in an all boys / all girls school can make the students to become desperate for their opposite gender which in turn makes them to be over vulnerable.

I saw one back then when I was in college she was a girl, and she couldn't resist a guy, later we found out that throughout her life that was actually her first time of being in a mixed school.

Merits And Demerits Of Co-education

Some of the merits and demerit of Co-educational school system are;

Merits

• Co-education helps expose a child to their opposite gender at a early stage
• It helps in teaching the child self control towards opposite sex
• It helps in boosting socialisation
• Co-education helps in boosting better communication skills amongst students

Demerit

• Some students may loose focus and concentration because of the opposite sex
• It promotes unhealthy competition amongst students
• It promotes unethical behavior such as bullying, teasing, violence etc.
