Hello Friends

Welcome to a new week full of engagement challenges. It's true time fly that much. Here we are on the S3-w4 challenge and I so much love the topic of our discussion today which is: Childhood or adulthood, which do you prefer?. As we all this are things we can't run from. We have experience or live to experience someday. I will be giving my opinion on the topic but before I begin I will call on the following persons to engage with: @majerius, @tangwe-rene and @chiabertrand.

INTRODUCTION

Life is like a circle just like the earth is spherical. We all have been kids some day back in time and now we adults or getting to adulthood or maybe some still kids even. Some people spend their adulthood wishing they have better enjoy their childhood proper while the had the chance while some kids admire how they could become adults already and enjoy the benefits of adults. But there's always a question of imbalance as childhood or adulthood wish varies from person to person. Looking at a general sphere most people prefer any of the above do to their experience. I have had an incident where one of my childhood friend has one of the worse childhood.

Brandy was a young girl who grow up in an unstable family which the parents were never in good terms. Father as a drunker who often spend most of his earnings on drinks, due to this reason his wife always quarrel with him on this incident but there's never been a change. Whenever he got home drunk her will shout at every one home and even go as far as picking fight with his wife and due to this Brandy was so depress and mostly spend her night with us. I can imagine how she wish she had grown already and have her own life.

Childhood Or Adulthood, Which Do I Prefer?

When I was growing up I use to take on child play with other kids of which in this Plays I was the parents. Quite interesting how I was playing the rule of an adult maybe due to the benefits I see adults possess. I was restricted from Candi and most sweets but my elders were having them. Nevertheless I had quite and interesting childhood of which sometimes I dream of those moments but the Big picture is I'm an adult now. No going back. Looking at our topic of discussion today: Childhood or adulthood, which do you prefer?. I will discuss on my option as we read ahead.

Who Is Considered As A Child In My Country And At What Age?

My country is Cameroon, country located in west central Africa and GMT +1. It is bounded to the west by Nigeria, to the east by Central African republic, To the southwest by the Atlantic ocean, north by T had republic. Citizen in Cameroon has a much better hand in communication around the world as it is a Bilingual country with SPoken languages as: English and French.

Children in my country are more entitled to lots of benefits from both the parents and the state. These children have the right to education and lot more state benefits until have attends a certain age stipulated by the state. On the parent side children are oblate to shelter and care from their parents up to a certain age before the are allowed to do some things as young adults, such as work, clubbing and parties.

Article 1 of UNCRC of September 25 1990 state that any one called a child should fall below the age of 18 years
Below this age, a child has the full benefits of a child and protected from instances such as early marriages, unwanted pregnancies, child abuse and trafficking.

Who Is Considered As An Adult In My Country And At What Age?

In Cameroon, when the call someone an adult, it means the person has reach the independent age and is now allow to make most decisions on his own. Adults have the right to work both in the public and private sector. At this stage the person might live his parents house and settle on his own, take care of his own bills and life aspect. In most worthy families, before a child approach maturity the have an account known as child support or simply student account with a significant sum in it which they can use to start a living already. That is open a business or any thing which they can invest in and multiply income. This is optional as it range from different families. I never had one.

Once a child has reached the age of 18 years and above, they are now young adults and free to things like work, get married and start the own family, relocate to any place around the globe. I left my parents house when i was 18 and started fending for myself to support my education and it's quite been a tough but good decision till now. I have my own apartment and take care of my self and support my younger ones as well.

I will love to travel back in time and complete some of the things I missed as a kid but it's not possible this is the present and we look forward to the future. Choosing between childhood and adulthood is all a personal reason depending on how our childhood experiences was and how our lives have turn out as adults.
In as much as I enjoy my childhood, there's one thing I perceived even as a kid. MY DREAMS, I couldn't wait to become an adult and pursue my dreams. so I Prefer my adulthood more as compared to childhood because I'm living part of my dream and wish to accomplish all of it in the nearest future.

Reasons Why You Prefer Childhood Or Adulthood

Becoming an adult is one of my adorable moments in life as I am entitled to the following.

• Freedom: I no longer have to call my parents to say I'm sleeping else way. or explain why I'm late home
• Independence: I am now an independent being who is in control of his own life, plans and decisions without bordering anyone for ideas or support.
• Family support: While as a kid all I could do is depend on my family but as an adult, I am helping my family both financially and materially.
• As an adult I can start my own family any time I'm ready...

haven't talk of the Positive reasons of being an adult, there are also cons to becoming an adult which are as follows:

• As and adult I've missed my childhood forever and there's no going back. I could dream and cherish the moments but there's nothing I can do about it.

• Responsibilities have consume the best of me as I no longer have much fun and play time as it was when I was a kid. I now have to act a particular way, think different and take care of my own stuffs.

• Adulthood is extremely stressful for reasons that I have to control my sleep schedule, few hours to relax and my only rest days are weekends which are sometime also busy as well.

Above all I still prefer adulthood as it's part of my growth and perhaps we were never gonna stay children forever.

CONCLUSION

Growth Is inevitable , In as much as we love to stay kids, It never happens. Analysis shows that 60% of the world's population prefer their childhood more than the adulthood because of the rising needs as adults, change in economy and life hardship. But the truth is we are here already and we must face adulthood. I am not the best adult but I have a vision for adulthood and regret no day of being an adult. To conclude, Adulthood is my stand and nothing more. Thanks for reading you all.
