Hello dear kid lovers of this community. It is a pleasure to participate in this contest hosted by @steemkidss.
My Favourite Subject in School
Right from the very beginning when I set foot in prenursery as a two year old, I was fascinated with numbers. This fascination grew into an intense love for Mathematics.
It was quite easy for maths to be my favourite because I saw everything as patterns and hence, maths. For me, Mathematics is the language or code upon which every other thing or concept is built on. When walking, singing, eating, dancing or doing anything, that is Mathematics. All my other subjects were easy to learn as I analysed the mathematics beneath the subject.
From Primary One right up to Upper Sixth i.e for thirteen years, I was the best in my class and unbeatable in mathematics. Maths flowed through me. I even participated in a maths competition designed for Primary Six kids when I was still in Primary Five. I got to attend primary six maths classes for a week in order to be prepared for the exam.
In Form Four, I and two other classmates, those who took the second and third positions in class, were chosen to represent our school in an interschool competition. Again, this competition was designed for Form Five kids. It was a great moment.
I remember how I used to cry whenever I get a 19.5/20. Losing that 0.5 mark used to hurt and I'll cry unconsolably for hours. Most times when the teacher was not around due to some reasons, I will organise a competition where I get my classmates to compete against me to test for speed and accuracy. We will solve a question and the winner was the first to finish with the correct answer. I was never beaten but it helped my classmates and I reason faster, and develop new pattern recognition systems.
I loved all my mathematics teachers and they were my favourite because they always gave challenges each class. This kept my mind sharp and helped me learn more. I especially loved to see the little tricks they usually put on the exam paper. Maths was a subject that I didn't have to study for as it was what I practically breathe.
Presently, I am studying Mathematics in the University under education in order to become a mathematics teacher. I also teach home classes and help students writing their entrance exams into the university. Most students find mathematics difficult and I have taken it upon myself to help all those that I can see mathematics in a new light and excel in it. Whenever people have problems in maths, they contact me for help. I always try to help no matter the level unless it is above my level.
My future is math filled and I'll not have it any other way.
I am inviting @majerius, @benjamin09 and @larissa237 to join this contest.
Thanks for reading.
Here is my Introductory post
Waouh waouh waouh, passion for mathematics. I just realised through your write up that I miss mathematics. I used to be best in my class back in primary school and beginning of secondary school but derailed along the way making maths one of the most difficult subjects for me. Why? Because of wrong friends and other stuff I can't mention, but I thank God I can still find a lil love for mathematics. Your post is very inspiring in case you don't notice that!
I'll end here and encourage everyone to hold the subject they find passion in very well as though their lives depended on it. Quite unfortunate that we don't have primary school pupils around. Thanks for this post

When you derail a bit in maths, you lose track of everything and it starts to be difficult. Thank God you left the company of such friends.
I didn't. Thank you @majerius.
What we love always starts right when we are young. We just have to find the right career path that embodies that passion.
