Good day steemians how are you all doing this new week? I hope everyone's is doing great? I want to thank @simonnwigwe for giving another opportunity to post in this community by organizing this contest about obedience.

What is your understanding of the term obedience

In my understanding, Obedience is the act of being obedient whereas to obedient is the act of following instructions or command given by those in authority, willingly.

Obedience takes place everyone, because anywhere we find ourselves, there must be a leader, wheather in the school, church, bar, house, offices, supermarkets and others. The virtue of Obedience is essential for living a good life.

In the journey of life, who should obey and why?

Everyone is expected to obey wherever he/she finds him/herself, because obedience is not just for one set of people. Let me make you understand fully, read this👇

Everyone on earth is bound to obey, God is the overall being who has authority over our lives and we are expected to obey him at all times. For example, A student can be the senior prefect of a particular school, all his juniors will obey him as expected, he can't obey them because he has authority over them but when he's in the presence of his teachers and parents, it automatically becomes his time to obey.

We obey and command wherever we find ourselves.

Do you think it is proper to be obedient at all times. Give reason why or why not?

I don't think is proper to be obedient at all times because most persons who has authority over us are evil and unworthy of our obedience and respect.

My reason - Such persons will surely send us bad message one day, probably to steal or kill someone. Such persons might tell us not to do what's right, they might do something bad and tell us to say we did it before they will accuse us and we will do as they said after we might be threatened.

Give a brief illustration where someone is expected to disobey.

Someone is expected to disobey whenever a person who has power over them gives them bad advice.

Let's say for instance a young girl is forced by her greedy mum who has lack of contentment, to follow a wealthy boy who likes her, so that he can be giving them money. Certainly this innocent young girl wouldn't love this boy because he might be an arrogant person or evil person who makes money through dubious or spiritual means.
If this girl foolishly obeys her mum, she might be used for money ritual, contact HIV/AIDS or get trafficked. In a situation like this, this girl is highly expected to disobey her mother and report her to their relatives.

Have you ever disobeyed someone before? How will you feel if someone disobey you?

Yes have disobeyed alot of people knowingly and unknowingly. I used to disobey my parents then when I was still in high school. My parents were always warning me to stop trekking from school to the house that the distance is highly too much. I always fell on deaf ears and trek as well as saved my transport fare, there was a time I got addicted to it and was trekking whenever I was coming back from school.

I wouldn't be happy if someone disobeys me, I will feel powerless and senseless, disobedience is one of the greatest sin in the eyes of the Lord. Most times when we obey our elders, those under us always obey us.

Conclusion

Obedience is one of the quality of a responsible being, children obey your parents, wives obey your husbands, students obey your teachers, workers obey your boss, citizens obey your president and governors so that this world can be full of joy. Thanks for reading friends, bye for now.
