Greetings to all kids lovers n Steemkids co mmunity. I am writing a contest on, 'What's the best way to Discipline a child'? First of all, 'Disciplines ' is the process of teaching your child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is not accepted'.[Reference]https://www.webmd.com/parenting/guide/discipline-tactics It is the primary responsibility of parents to help their children become self reliant, respectful and self controlled. I am a parent with 3 kids of these ages 11years,9years and 5years.This is the picture of my three kids:

It is important to discipline a child because of the following:

1. Disciplining children ensures that children get the skills they need to become responsible adult.
2. Disciplining children teach them how to make good choices. When you tell the children the good that comes from doing good,and when they do bad, the consequences, this will help them make good choices.
3. Disciplining keep kids safe. For instance, when I teach my kids the right foods to eat,it helps them stay away from some health risks.

WAYS TO DISCIPLINE A CHILD
Some parents believe that beating or spanking a child is the best way to discipline a child. However, there are various ways to discipline a child. They include:
(1) Show and Tell: This involves teaching a child right from wrong with calm words and actions. Parents should teach by example because children like to imitate those around them.
(2)Set Limits: A parent should have a clear and consistent rules the children should follow. Explain these rules in terms they can understand.
(3) Give Consequences: A parent should calmly and firmly explain the consequences if the children do not behave well. For example, tell your child that if she does not pick up her toy, you will put them away for the rest of the day. Be prepared to follow through right away.
(4) Hear them out: Listening to your children is important. Let your children finish the story before solving the problem. This means that if a child does what is bad, find out why he or she did that rather than giving consequences.
(5) Giving them attention. Every child needs attention to reinforce good behavior and discourage the bad.
(6) Catch them being good: Children need to know when they do good and commend them. Praise their success
(7)Know when not to respond: Ignoring bad behavior sometimes can teach children natural consequences of their actions.
(8) Do not take sides with any of the kids when they are arguing.

As a child,One thing I appreciate about my parents is that they do not favor one child over another. They were loving but firm in their discipline. My parents commended our good behaviors and praise our success. This motivated me to do more good and to avoid doing anything that will betray the trust and confidence they had on me.
