INTRODUCTION

Hello @steemkidss and all you lovers of kids in this amazing community, greetings to you all and all the best.

In this article, i will be directing our attention to what parents, including all kids' lovers should teach their kids about gambling and the problems associated with it.

At this point, i would like us to carefully consider the information herein and see what we need to do as parents toward our children regarding this addictive habit.

Today, we're living in a society where gambling has become the order of the day, and of course our environment has really been saturated with this obnoxious or offensive habit so much that many people, including kids who are still schooling and living under the roof of their parents are curious and interested in gambling in order to make money.

Parents should give attention to this important area which has been overlooked over time by helping their kids to avoid falling prey to this insidious game thereby avoiding it's accompanying dangers.

In fact, as parents, we do well to teach our children that gambling is a form of subtle game which takes different forms and can manifest in some surprising and suspicious places and with sad results.

For example, gambling activities nowadays can also be seen in some addictive children's videos and mobile games in order to keep children busy playing.

Additionally, for children, the most common forms of gambling are card games at home, lottery tickets, and scratchy cards. Some kids even switch over from these subtle games to more serious types of gambling in later adolescent years, like racing and other sports betting.
Check out the images below for some of these insidious games that kids may be lured into by their peers.

It is the responsibility of parents to closely supervise and keep a watchful eye on their children over this obnoxious habit and equally educate them on the possible dangers and problems associated with it.

Sometimes, curiosity and peer pressure may drive once responsible children into this behaviour, for example, in their video and mobile games, some childre may kick off this habit by growing internet virtual crops on a farm that they need to harvest every two hours, otherwise the online crops will die.

Eventually, this will get the kids into the act of playing the game very often throughout the day because they feel that it is necessary, and not as if they're enjoying it. In this case, parents and all kids' lovers and even their teachers should teach the kids about both it's moral dangers, besides being a time- consuming habit.
Below are images of other forms of gambling common among kids today that parents should watch out for.

Moreover, a survey published in the British Medical Bulletin in 2020 revealed that, while the general rates of adolescent and kiddies' gambling have reduced, "internet gambling is heightening in children and young people."

The insidious nature of gambling may offer kids the first free version, and then offer internet items and upgrades for real cash and this system motivates kids to begin spending both money and their precious time and as a result of becoming addicted to this game, they're unable to stop the habit.

Now, having considered all of the aforementioned points about gambling, what else should parents educate their children about this habit?

The Problem With Gambling

  • The physical impact of gambling and also it's addiction include stress-related conditions such as hypertension, lack of sleep, heart- related diseases, depression, distorted decision- making, poor coordination and concentration.

  • Gambling in all it's forms is a life-wrecker, of course it is capable of wrecking the life of it's victim.
Besides, in some cases, it makes the victim look irresponsible both to his family members and the society.

  • For kids, gambling can pose a serious threat to their studies as students, and also to their parental training thereby becoming a potential distractor for them.

CONCLUSION

Thanks to steemkidss community for taking the time to peruse through this timely article, and i hope it's contents will help parents protect their children from getting into the trap of gambling.

I appreciate @meymeyshops.

Gambling is a huge problem not only for children but also for adults. As you mentioned in your article, unfortunately, these are done within the legal framework. This is the saddest part.. It makes me happy to see such informative articles on this platform.. Thanks for sharing..

Thanks.

Gambling is dubious and anyone that gamble to double his/her hustle is at risk of losing out. Gambling is not only associated to children but to their parents as some parents can barely provide for the family needs.

You're right

This article was so helpful to me.. At least someday when i become a mother, i will try my best to keep them away from such.

Kudos to you, all the best.
