My most memorable moment in school

                           MY FIRST DAY IN SCHOOL

My father was a government engineer and he used to get transferred every 3 years, when I came in 8th, I was in a college where studies were English medium and co-educational, then when we along with my father got a new posting.

When I reached the new city, I got admission in a Hindi medium and boys school. And on the first day I was given the opportunity to sit at the back seat in the class.

It was my first day of class in the new city, the mathematics teacher came and as soon as he came, he asked everyone to take out their mathematics books.

I was very proud of my mathematics knowledge, I had already studied the entire mathematics of 8th class and had solved all the mathematics questions.

Then the teacher said that today we will solve a question from the 7th class book. And by speaking the questions from his own mouth, he started making the whole class write.

But I could not understand even a single word of his language, because he was speaking in a mixed language of Hindi and Urdu.

All the children solved that question immediately and showed the copy to the teacher, then the teacher's eyes fell on me and he said who are you, are you new, have you solved the question or not, show me the copy. I did not show him the copy.

He called me near him and said very badly and he had a thin green stick in his hand which he hit on my right hand and shouted and said where have you studied from, you could not even solve the question of 7th?

Tears welled up in my eyes due to insult and pain, then I told him that I could not understand your language and hence could not solve the question.

You can ask me any question from this book which you may not have even taught yet, I will solve it.

He looked at me with surprise and said ok, then he asked me to solve a question from the middle of the book. I solved it within minutes and showed him, then he felt very shy and he loved me and said, I made a mistake my child. I did not know that you had studied through English medium and came from another city.

From today onward, you will sit on the front seat and help the children who are weak in mathematics.

And such was my first day at the new school, filled with humiliation and praise at the same time.
