Tales of the Stars

Stars

The word "star" often brings to mind lots of thoughts and memories. Amongst all these thoughts, a conversant one is a memory of something back in my childhood days.

Back then, especially during my nursery classes, I had this textbook with the center page filled with tons of gold star. If you got an exercise right, you were then privileged to give yourself a star.

The feeling from getting one of those sticky gold stars was priceless. You would just want to stick them to your face so whoever cared to notice will know you had an excellent performance in class that day.

For me, this may have been the first thing that came to mind but there are a lot of things stars represent for all of us. We can't just limit it to one experience.

Evangeline

Another intriguing incident was the time I just watched the disney children cartoon, "The Princess and the Frog". There was a part in that movie where the cartoon character, Ray sang a song professing his love to his late lover, Evangeline who he believed was the evening star.

After this, I began to believe that the stars where our late loved ones watching over us from above. It may or may not be so_we can never truly know, but, it was a big consolation to that firefly from the cartoon and I believe it is to most people who have similar believes.

The Three Wise Men

Another story I can not afford to emit is the popular story of the three wise men. These three wise men who visited baby Jesus at the manger, on the day he was born, were directed by a bright star.

They followed the star until they found the Messiah.

This is not the only instance where the stars where used to show directions. There are many incidents where lost people found their way because of the star and it's constellation.

According to astronomy, there stars are not just scattered randomly every night up in the sky but they are arranged in almost predictable patterns. This patterns if studied can be used to tell direction.

Astronomy further describes stars as massive luminous balls of gas that hold their on gravity. They are said to primarily compose of hydrogen and helium and they are relatively extremely large.

To wish upon a star

Everything I write about the stars are a reality because they are part of my existence and my everyday

Most times, I'll just look out through the window of my room and stare as they twinkle and twirl in the sky seemingly without any worry or care whatsoever.

The sun goes down and they come out to give light to the earth. I wonder if they are conscious of the fact that the light the give light up the darkness of the night.

Realizing that they are extremely huge and distance away yet able to make such impact on the earth always inspires me to impact in the life's of as many as I can, no matter how distant they may be.

Staring at that beautiful night sky lit up with diamond stars, I am reminded of a genius Creator and his perfect art. A moment that comes with peace and more thoughts to ponder.
