Imagine a world without order, a place where there's no one to curb people's excesses. How do you imagine that world to be. Lemme guess full of chaos and anarchy.
Steemit is a digital world an and at such, it has to have people who takes care and watch the primary order of things to prevent this chaos and anarchy. Such people are not far from us. Today we would learn about one of them and that is the MODERATORS

Who is a Steemit Moderator

Moderators are humans placed in every community which makes up the large steemworld. The serve as watchdogs, monitor and support the growth of the community. they are a big support to the Steem community. Everyday activities, contests are looked upon by the moderators. I know you would agree with me that it is not an easy task.

Like I said earlier on,the moderator
moderators are watchdogs and they look out for;

• Plagiarism: I can write on this platform with confidence, knowing fully well another won't repost any of my content inappropriately without facing severe consequences. This is made possible through the moderators who make sure they scan every post.

• Ai-generated Contents: we live in an age where everything is done digitally and most people don't want to suffer or use their talents and for this reason steemit was brought to birth. Steemit loves and support original contents, however without proper monitoring, with the advancement of A.I a post could be generated in less than a minute. This is detrimental to the platform as people would no longer want to use their brains and create post but look up to A.I's. We don't have to worry about that as dedicated moderators check that at every post. A big cheers to them.

• Support and UPvote quality post: Moderators are just too cool, not only do they take the pains of detecting quality contents, they also say thank you for each post by supporting it with steems. What a selfless service.

• Improve The community they serve in:No community would grow well without a moderator as moderators seek to promote their communities by gaining more members via regular contest accompanied by mouthwatering prizes, supporting witnesses, inviting the presence of curators and boom supports.

• Promote the community goals/aims: steem moderators seeks to promote the community goals by posting contests and contents in line with their goals and objectives. An example is steemkids moderators whenever they post or create a contest, the do so with topics related to kids and parents in general. Wonderful isn't it.
  I know y'all can think of many other functions of a moderator, why not make it known by participating in this contest.

Qualities of a Moderator

Like I said in my introduction, Moderators are humans not bots some kind of lifeless ai. Because of this fact, they need to posses certain qualities in order to promote the communities wellbeing. Some of these traits are.

• Selflessness: A moderator must be ready to sacrifice his time and efforts for other users, screening everypost, watching whether users or contestants adheres to the rules and so forth takes a lot of time.

• Commitment:How would you feel if you belonged to a community, create a post and after seven days no one in the community looks at your post. You probably feel irritated and discouraged. Hence, a Moderator must be committed and always regular

• Clarity:A moderator should always be clear when giving out instructions or advice in order to aid proper understanding.

• Creative/Hardworking:arousing interest is one of the core qualities a moderator should posses.

Conclusion

Being a moderator is something I have dreamed of but I never gave much thought about which community I would like to serve untill now, for this reason I owe @simonnigwe much gratitude.
As a science and creative writer lover I would honestly chase after my dreams of becoming a moderator in a community that posses such. Also, I will like to belong to a community which admires and support quality contents.

In conclusion, I would love to give a big shout out and kudos all the steem moderators it definitely is not easy, but you are all doing a great job and have earned my full respect and are worth supporting
