Introduction

You are all welcome to my blog once again and today I will be participating in another weekly drawing contest. If I was to ask you to guess what we are asked to draw this week, may be you would get it right. Let me just go ahead and tell you. We are asked to draw a parrot. That noise maker.

Describe a Parrot

A parrot is a bird mostly used as a pet, they are smart and can talk. They often have beautiful colours and are easy to identify because of their curved beak and type of foot made up of four toes, unlike most bird that have three toes Infront and one behind, parrots have two toes front and back and walks one foot at a time almost like a human but you may find it funny.

Parrots are very loquacious, ready to repeat everything you say. Apart from copying humans, parrots have their own vocabulary of sounds like:

• Whistling,
• Growling,
• Purring,
• Tongue Clicking

Parrots live together in a social group known as company of parrots or a pandemonium of parrots. They are often found looking for food during the day

Where do they live?

We have parrots all over the world though they love warm places and only one type of parrot is found in ice cold places.
We have plenty of parrots in Mexico and in Africa.

What does it eat, tell us about the lifestyle of a parrot

Parrots eat plants and little insects, but Nuts are their most preferred meal. Living together and doing things together provides some amount of protection to the parrots. They are also known for being monogamous in their relationship. They work as a team, taking care of their young.

Are they important to man, what significant role do they play in humans life?

Parrots are pets that keeps us company, they are friends and can make us happy. Their way of speaking is very funny.

If they are dangerous to man tell us their dangerous part

Parrots are not predatory animal and will not attack anyone except provoke. Parrots can bite a painful bite and can also scratch with it's claws. Some parrots are very strong.

Do you encourage us to have it at home? If we should have, how can we care for it the way you do?

I think a parrot is a safe pet if kept in it's cage, so I will encourage anyone to have a parrot as a pet because they are real fun to have.
Provide the right type of nuts or pellets, it would be better if prescribed by an expert.

Steps in drawing the Parrot

Step1

I gathered all the materials that is needed for the drawing.

The materials are:

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencil
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Crayons

Step 2

After gathering all the needed materials, I started by drawing it from the beak, brought out the head, put the eye.

Step 3

An this stage, I drew the upper body down to the parrots tail and put the parrot on a stand.

Step 4

Now I have provided a place for the bird to stand on.

Step 5

At this stage I started the colouring process with a reddish colour,

Step 6

The drawing is finished and all colours are represented.
