Hello everyone, good evening from this end and welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to showcase my participation on this wonderful contest organized by @drhira in my favorite steemit community "Steem Kids & Parents".
School is an institution or setting where teaching and learning process takes place, but apart from the whole educational activities, there are others activities that create a social atmosphere and make the learning environment fun, those activities creates most of the long lasting memories we had in school.
There are so many memorable moments i had while i was in school as i have always engage in social activities right from time, after all "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". From my primary school through my secondary school and down to my tertiary education were all memorable, and this was made possible with the caliber of people i met in various institutions i passed through. Let's ride as i talk about beautiful moments i had in school
CULTURAL EVENT
The most memorable moment i had in my school which has created am amazing memory for me was the last cultural event i participated in before graduating from my University. Cultural day event has been the biggest event in my school right from time till date, it is an event where every tribe comes out in mass number to showcase their culture and heritage. Every tribe is given a chance to display on stage and rewards are given based on individual tribe performance.
Why it become the memorable moment
This day among all other event and all other cultural day, was the best and most amazing moment for me because;
- Firstly, i was nominated as the king of my tribe (Igbo tribe). It wasn't easy though but it felt good knowing the fact that i spearheaded a course i love so much (culture)
- Secondly, for the first time in a long time we were more united compared to how we relate with each other before. We had series of practices and each practice was loaded with so much fun and love
- Thirdly, we came second position out of twenty one (21) different tribes that participated in the cultural event
On that very day, the girls dressed very colorful and had body painting. Most of the girls that participated in my tribe were among the dancers who showcased their exceptional dancing skill, some acted as maiden and few played other roles.
The guys too were not left out as most of them helped in playing drums and other cultural instruments, some acted as body guards and some of the guys danced too😊.
The event sparked up the attention of many neighboring communities and so there was so much crown who came to witness.
How did you make it memorable
Like i said earlier, it was never easy. As a leader of the Igbo tribe in my school, i took it as my responsibility to try as much as possible to unite all the igbos in my school and to some extent i was able to archive atleast a significant percentage of that. The unity we had at last made things to work out for us and as a result we were able to come second place in the event. Everybody was happy the way things turned out to be and even after the event, the legacy still stands and i feel good about it.
There are so many memories we have about our school but there's always that special one which makes us happy when ever we recall and so i would like to invite my steemian friends @solexybaba @samuelebuka and @m-fdo and every other steemian to participate on this contest and share their sweet memorable moments they had in school
Thank you all for reading.
