Hello everyone here on steemkids community,It has been a while here I hope we are all doing great. I'm here to post ones again on the weekly drawing contest created by @eliany and organised by the whole steemkids community.

Today, I am going to be drawing, writing and making an illustration about ants. This will include how i was able to come up with the step-by-step drawing of an ant, the materials I used to make the drawing possible, and a brief discussion on their life style and how they carryout their activities. Please scroll through as I describe

DESCRIBE AN ANT

Ants are tiny wingless insects that are most black, yellow or red in colour. They have large heads with compound eyes (though their abdomen are mostly larger in size), they have antennae that help them smell and notice, they have powerful jaws which help them defend their selfs from pray and sting, they have six legs. Ants mostly move in groups especially when they have a task at hand you will see them moving in a regular pattern. They alert others when there is a food source and stores food underground. They sometime build hill
that is "Ant Hill" collectively so as to protect their selves from predators and to regulate temperature as their hill links to their underground.
Before I go into answering some questions from the contest rules, let me start with showing pictures of the step-by-step drawing of an Ant so that we will all get a clear picture of what it looks like, that is for people that don't have an idea😊

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM THE LIFE STYLE OF AN ANT

Actually, there are so many things to learn from the life style of ant some of these includes
✔️ HARDWORK; Ants are hard working animals. Like when there is a task at hand, they will never stop, they will always keep work and carrying loads even twice their size
✔️ PERSEVERANCE; Ants will never stop until the work is done. I don't know but I don't think they get tired for any reason. They will always keep working until their goal is achieved
✔️ TEAMWORK; If there's a perfect description of what team work mean then I think ants should be used as example. Their way of teaming up is exceptional. They will always work together to achieve a collective goal
✔️ PLANNING; I honestly don't know how they do it, but ants could sense a change of weather and season from a very long period of time and on this note they always plan ahead. They store enough food during the dry season to sustain them when the raining season shows up.
✔️ ORGANIZATION; Ants are very organised insects, you will always see them following a regular pattern when working and they are very focused in accomplishing their work together

HAVE YOU SEEN ONE BEFORE?

Yes I have seen ants severally in different places , I have also seen them on their hill that is Ant hill, as a matter of fact I have seen different species of them both the black, red and yellow type. I have been bitten several too😀

ARE THEY IMPORTANT TO MAN, WHAT SIGNIFICANT ROLE DO THEY PLAY IN HUMAN LIFE?

Ants are very important to man, they helps in tilling the soil by so doing they mix up the soil and there by circulate nutrients all round the soil. They are also agents of wethering. As they bore into the ground just like other animals that bore into the ground, they break down bigger soil particles to smaller sizes and there by improving soil structure. And all these mentioned above will help man in term of growing of crops

IF THEY ARE DANGEROUS TO MAN TELL US THEIR BAD EFFECTS

They can be dangerous to man when they sting. Some ants are poisonous and their sting can cause allergy. Ant can also be an agent of destruction expecially around residential areas

CONCLUSION

I know it is normal to look at ants as just animals but we should try and watch them closely and I bet you we will learn alot from how they behave and live their lives, I think we should apply some of their behavior to our day to day lifestyle and trust me it will help us alot.
