Family is the smallest social group made up of people related by blood or adoption. Family bonding is very necessary to unite the family because where there is no unity there is no progress. A family can only grow when the members are progressing.

1. LOVE: Love is the greatest of it all and love and unity works hand in hand. For a family to be united there just be unconditional love. The need of love among family members cannot be overemphasized. A family that lack loves tends to be so chaotic and violent and that is a very wrong environment to breed and nuture children. Love is really a core values that must be found in every family because it helps the members feel secured because there's this sense of belonging when you are around people who love you and it helps one feel safe, secured and protected .

1. UNITY: Unity works hand in hand with love and if there's love in a family it will be easy for them to stay united. There's a saying that goes "United we stand and divided we fall" and it can be properly illustrated using bunch of brooms because it is very difficult to break a bunch of broom and very easy to break a stick of broom. This goes a long way to explain that a disunited family is very easy to attack than a united family. That is why unity is core value in family bonding.

2. TOLERANCE: Tolerance is also a very important core value. Understanding that in as much as we are a family we all have diverse attitudes and characters. Tolerance is a very important because there is bound to be issues but tolerating one another's excesses goes a long way to keep the family united.

3. FORGIVENESS: Forgiveness makes the bond stronger because after sorting out difference there's always a lot to learn. Forgiveness helps us heal from our pains so forgiving is not for the benefit of the person that offended us but for our own benefits so we heal and do not end up being bitter people and full of hate. Forgiving in a family is very important and should not be underestimated because unforgiveness breeds hatred and envy.

4. PEACE: Peace is a core value because nobody likes a chaotic and violent environment and everyone values his or her peace of mind. So maintaining a peaceful home is also a core value that keeps a family united. Some ways to maintain peace is by addressing conflicts and disputes with love, learning to apologize when you offend a family member and overlooking minor issues.

5. SUPPORT: Supporting each others dream also fosters family bonding because being a family doesn't mean we have the same vision most times families have different aspirations and goals like in my family my sister aspires to be a teacher, my brother a lawyer while me a microbiologist so we support each other's dreams the best way we can. Support is necessary because if everyone tends to achieve their dreams there will be no room for jealousy and envy.

1. organizing recreational activities like picnic, house parties and other fun activities.
2. By having interactive session at least once in a while to know each other's challenges and a way to offer support.
3. By effective communication and paying attention to each other's needs and feelings.
