Hello wonderful Steemians, how are you all doing? My content might not be something done in the present but I assure you that we really enjoyed ourselves when it happened. This outing happened around 13th June when we went for a birthday party of our family friend, whose child celebrated his son's first birthday. If we had not attended, it would have been a very big problem, because the wife is my 3rd nephew's godmother. We were very happy for them because this is their first issue after 7 years of marriage, it was a thing of joy for everyone present. So I appreciate @ngoenyi for organising this contest giving us the opportunity to reminisce on activities done or make plans for the weekend.
Where did the family go to?
The birthday was celebrated in the compound of the celebrant. There were lots of food to go round, drinks to wash it down and fun activities. We were already given the contract to make some snacks for the birthday party, so that day my sister and I woke up very early, around 4am in order to meet up with time of delivery and before the birthday celebration starts.
What did they do and how did the kids feel about it?**
- There was a dancing competition amongst different age bracket, from 1-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-15 years, all took their turns, the adults were also included, Mums and Dads had their turn at the dancing too.
One of the most fun activity that took place was the tying of headties, the Master of the occasion (MC) brought out five girls who was told to being out their mums, each mum was to sit down and allow their child die their held for them. Some kids were fast, some didn't know what they were doing, but the major thing was that we had fun.
The boys were told to bring their father belt and shoes and put on themselves. They were expected to walk with the belt and shoe. We laughed hard in this section because the belts and shoes looked big on the boys but they were still carried in with enough pride, walking majestically without any care in the world.
The host made sure that each child went home with a birthday package, for the babies from 1-5 years were given colouring books, pencil, eraser and exercise book, the older ones were given storybooks, exercise book, and school kit. The children kept opening the kit to show off what they were given. To add to the weekend outing, we stopped at Genesis eatry and bought three plates of ice-cream. We were so full with everything that we have eaten that we did not bother cooking and eating any other thing again.
