The title: Adventure in the Kitchen with Children

I had the funniest and most annoying moment I have ever experienced in kitchen a few months ago. It was the rain on Sunday, rainy day and my family was going to make pancakes. Very excited, they're 7 years old as the eldest and 5 year old twins. They call themselves "Chef" and I was thrilled to be their little assistant.

What happened?

We started with simple ingredients: flour, milk, eggs, and a little sugar. I directed them while letting them do small tasks like breaking eggs and stirring the dough. It went smoothly at first, until the youngest took the initiative to add food coloring to the dough. Unbeknownst to me, she chose green because she said green pancakes looked "magical." I laughed at her creative idea, although I was worried that the results might not be as expected.

Why did it get messy?

When we started pouring the batter into the pan, the older sibling suddenly turned the stove on too high and the oil exploded. The younger sibling, who was standing too close, reflexively threw the spatula into the air in surprise. The spatula landed on the green batter that had been poured into the pan, creating a “mini-explosion” effect in the kitchen. The green batter jumped onto the wall, the floor, and even onto the younger sibling’s face. I immediately giggled but was also confused about what to clean up first.

How did it end?
After cleaning up the mess, we managed to make some “edible” pancakes. The green pancakes did look weird, but the kids called them “dinosaur pancakes” and ate them happily. I laughed too because the excitement just now became a sweet memory.

Where and when?
It all happened in our kitchen, on a wet Sunday morning. The rain outside added to the warm atmosphere inside the house, even though the kitchen almost turned into a mini-war zone.

Who was involved?
My older sibling, my younger sibling, and I are the main trio in this story. Their father was just a spectator while laughing out loud from the living room. He called us the “green pancake team.”

This experience not only made me laugh, but also taught me a lesson: never underestimate children's creativity, even in the kitchen!

You were very excited in your kitchen and cooked a very nice dish with egg milk dough. And it was raining that day because of which you were a little more excited. And you have presented them very nicely

Making pancakes, especially with kids, is always full of laughter and a little bit of mess, but that’s what makes it worth it. Green pancakes sure look unique and interesting, and I’m sure they bring a certain amount of joy. Thank you
