I recently found myself playing Diablo 4's latest update, Season of Loot Reborn. I had kind of given up on the game, but when I kept hearing that the game was getting better, curiosity got the better of me, and am I glad it did.

Hitting LVL 100

After countless hours of relentless grinding, I finally reached level 100 on my whirlwind Barbarian. Surprisingly, the climb to the top was noticeably easier this time compared to previous seasons. This change makes the experience more enjoyable, as I can focus more on optimizing my gear instead of just leveling up.

Taking down Bosses

One of the highlights so far has undoubtedly been the defeat of Duriel and Andariel. Those fights were not easy. But I have to admit that Andy is a lot simpler because you can just stack resistance. Duriel, on the other hand, is much harder for melee because he can kill you in one hit if you're not very well geared.

Next Goals

But the journey doesn't end there. My current goal is finding Ghor’s Devastating Grip with an item power level of 925. This piece of gear is my must have. For now, I’m making do with a pair that boasts an item power of 873. While definitely good It will only get me so far and for the uber bosses I'll need the best of the best.

To push my gear further, I’ve been grinding tirelessly in the pit to get some more of Obductive and Ingolith. These I need to upgrade my gear which is becoming the only way to really get a power spike.

Goals left

The season won't be complete until I take down the end bosses

  • Echo of Lilith
  • Tormented Echo of Andariel
  • Tormented Echo of Duriel

The endgame content is rather meek but I don't blame the developers. The game needed big changes and expanding the endgame wasn't a priority.

My thoughts about the season

“Season of Loot Reborn” has breathed new life into Diablo 4. The introduction of Greater Affixes has finally making grinding worth it. Being able to craft the perfect gear rather than hoping for the perfect piece of gear to drop every time make it so much more rewarding.

The Pit of Artificers has been a fun addition for this as well. This throws me back to the rifts of Diablo 3, which where actually a great part of the game.
