Naughty Dog has released update 1.08 for The Last of Us: Part II — with it, PlayStation 5 owners will be able to run the game at 60 frames per second.
They promise not only to improve performance, but also to reduce download time and improve resolution.
Digital Foundry has already tested the patch.
In short, the resolution remains the same (1440p), but the performance has become perfect — if you want, you can turn on 30 FPS, but there is no special sense. The PS5 holds 60 FPS better than the PS4 Pro-30 FPS. And that one had very rare falls for one or two frames.
Downloads are indeed faster, but due to backward compatibility limitations, they are still quite large — 90 seconds for the PS4 Pro and 44 seconds for the PS5.
