I think I've been too emotional about Splinterlands that I've allowed it to get to me, I've been engrossed in battling aggressively for title and position that I've forgotten about having the real fun and it has taken a toll on my game plays. I find myself getting angry and gritting my teeth when I loose more than 3 battles in a row, lol, forgetting that It is just a game.

So I took a short break. Yup I guess everyone needs a break once in a while, that's what you get for playing a particular game consistently for almost 2 years.

Anyway since I've been playing Splinterlands for almost two years I decided to take a retrospective look at the entire game system, my best rewards, my observations, my best game plays...

My best rewards

I've gotten quite a number of interesting cards during my entire time playing the game, some were very valuable at over 10$ but drastically reduced in price over time. Note that I got some of them from packs I bought.

05

I was lucky to collect a couple of this in the early days of playing, there used to be so much hype around it, and it somegow just faded into the shadows, cards like Lord Ariantus have reduced to almost 6$, I guess it used to be my most expensive at about 12$.

04

Then Elemental Phoenix has also reduced in price, it was worth about 8$ before, now its worth about 4.7$, I like this card a lot as it is super useful in giving magic attacks.

03

One of the cards that has retained its value most in my deck is the Spirit of the forest - of the Earth Splinter, this card has to be on top of my list of my best cards, super useful tank healer with ability to fly and pierce at high levels. As you can see here it is on level one, and I still enjoy it at that, especially in high mana battles. It has held value at around 8$.

02

This card has got to be on the list of my best top 3 and it is just on level one, it is a legendary water monster. It was worth about 8$ when I first got it, now its worth about 3$. You should see this card at its highest levels, it is one of the most equipped cards in Splinterlands.

01

This has been my best holding so far, and that's because its my first and only gold dragon summoner, I like shiny stuff! It was worth about 8$ when I got it but its worth 4$ now, but there's something interesting here, there are only 265 pieces in circulation, and 27 on the market, it might not stay long at that low price.

My Observations

At the beginning of my gaming journey, I used to obsessed about my Splinterlands account value, checking for every increase and drop every other day. Sometimes I think about what makes up the value of a card, demand and scarcity, then I remember why Splinterlands is unique all over again, all the cards are capped, they get burnt, so their supply is subject to reducing over time, either by people owning them or by being burnt for dec, so if the card is highly demanded for, then it should reflect on the price, just my thoughts, these unique pieces of cryptos maybe subject to more market sentiments than I know.

According to the chart, the market cap has found support at around 3.7$million after reaching a peak of about 4.8$million as at December 2019.

Splinterlands has also given out over $100,000 in tournament prices since tournaments begun less than a year ago, with 712$ still to be given out. Splinterlands has also launched its mobile app in Alpha phase with many improvements in the look and feel of the interface.

Evidently, Splinterlands is still a successful business and game built on blockchain, developments are going on, there are attempts being made to expand like the newly improved affiliate system and also few partnerships with other external communities like WAX blockchain.

Lastly, curating activities from the blogging aspect of Splinterlands has skyrocketted, its really amazing, huge thanks to the entire curating team.
