THUNDER FORCE IV - TECHNOSOFT - MEGA DRIVE REVIEW

Thunder Force IV is a shooting game for the Mega Drive, published by Technosoft in 1992.

In space year 980, a colossal battle was fought between the Lohum Empire and the Galactic Federation, the latter being victorious. However, the empire's computer system could not be completely destroyed and has been recovered by Kha-Oss, an ally of Lohum.

In a desperate attempt to prevent a new war, the Federation sends its latest combat prototype, the Fire LEO-04 Rynex space fighter, on a suicide mission to take out the Vios supercomputer and annihilate the entire Kha-Oss armada.

As pilots of the Rynex, you must overcome ten challenging levels in very different settings, such as frozen planets, deserts and even starry space. You can choose the order in which you complete the first four levels, before starting the final assault against the enemy fleet.

The ship is equipped with cannons with which to open fire, a selector to choose between the different types of weapons that we have available, and a meter that allows us to adjust its speed and maneuverability.

We start armed with front and rear fire, but we can upgrade our ship with five different types of fire, shields, and even satellites. As we progress through the game we will obtain the deadly Thunder Sword, which when charged to its maximum power will release a devastating energy discharge.

The legion of Kha-Oss is made up of ships of all shapes and sizes, with tremendous destructive power, that will test our skills at the controls of our ship. Not to mention the terrain, which can reduce us to star dust if we do not maneuver with sufficient precision and speed.
