Protected animals in my country Nigeria

Hello friends in steemit, in today's contest I'll be writing about Animals being protected and cared for and everything you need to know about them in my country, Nigeria.
So I'll start by telling you all what an animal is and as we all know that an animal is any living creature, which is not a plant, a bacterium or a fungus. They have eukaryotic cells, meaning that they have a nucleus and other membrane bound organelles, also they can't make their own food, which makes them heterotrophic but instead, they have to eat other organisms to have the require nutrients they do need.

Animals do have the ability to move around and Sense their surroundings. They reproduce sexually, which means that they mate with other animals of their same species to produce an offspring.

Now we must know that Animals do paly a huge special roles in our society today and even in the olden days. Like for instance, some of these animals are scavengers, they help to break down dead plants and animals and return their nutrients to the environment, another set of animals are predators, they aid in the keeping of others animals population In checked, also some of these animals are herbivores, you know what that means, as they help to control plant growth. Some pollinators which help on plants reproductions, and interestingly some of the animals are ecosystem engineers, meaning that they can physically alter their own environment in such a way that they could create habitats for other species and themselves, like beavers who build dams that creates wetlands.

Now protected animals, the factors that cause their extinctions are habitat loose!
Which is one of the major factor; during the period when we humans destroy or degrade our habitats, animals can also lose their homes and food source has well in which they carry out for their daily survival.

In Nigeria, the threat to wildlife is poaching and hunting as well!
Like antelope, bush cats, dogs, and the likes are being killed for their meat and also body parts which are being sold out , now the loss of these animals is devastating and had it impact on the ecosystem, putting some species at risk of extinction also hunting as well, forest are being burned down and cleared off for farming and other human activities, another word "forcing animals out of their natural and original homes! and as we know that Nigeria is one of the country with rapid growing population of humans!

In Nigeria , there are many animals that are protected under Nigeria law, like the African elephant is protected under the National parks service act, and it's also listed on CITES appendix 1, which we all know that it is the highest level of protect like any other country of the world with respect to wildlife, Nigeria is a signatory to the convention on international trade in Endangered species of wildlife and flora cite.

Wildlife is conserved by the national parks service act, which originated in 1979.
Bitterly, despite these protections, poaching still continues to be a major problem in the country!

To bring to the conclusion of this discuss, humans need food to survive, we need to also grow our agricultural level in the country, and on the other hand animal needs their original homes to avoid extinction, now this clashes, so all am saying is that during this process of either hunting, farming or locating new places we should not abuse the wildlife's around, or drives them away by clearing up unnecessary spaces for things not important.
