It's another week for drawing in the Steem of Animals. How are your friends? I hope you all are fine as I am. I appreciate @shahariar1 for organising and sustaining this contest. My article today is on snake.

What is a Snake?
A snake is a long reptile that has scale all over its body and has no limbs. They don't have eyelids and external ears. Snakes are carnivorous animals, meaning that they feed on flesh like frogs, toads, fish, birds, etc. There are over 3000 species of snakes, of which some are venomous, and some are not.

Some Fact about Snake

• a snake can change their skin.
• Snakes are very fast (speedy)
• Some species of snake can fly
• Snake venom is harmful and can serve as medicine
• Snakes can smell with their tongue
• Some snakes lay eggs while others give birth
• Snakes can hear despite having no external ears.

Today, I have drawn one of the species of the snake known as the Cobra, and I shall straight away give you a step-by-step explanation of the drawing.

Materials Used For drawing

• A4 paper
• Pencil
• Colours
• Eraser
• Sharpener

Step 1
I began my drawing by sketching the entire snake. I began from the head down to the body and the tail

Step 2
I drew the mouth, the eye, the nostril and the
scale on the centre of the snake

Step 3
I drew the scales on the hood and head of the snake

Step 4
I shaded the head and hood of the snake using brown colour, yellow colour and pencil. I also shaded the eye and nostril of the snake.

Step 5
I gently drew the scale on one side of the snake using a pencil, and I shaded the same side accordingly using a brown colour and pencil.

Step 6
I drew the scale and also shaded the other side of the snake using pencil and brown colour.

Step 7
I shaded another layer of the snake using pencil and brown colour. I first drew the scale and then shaded.

Step 8
I shaded the tail of the snake's black using a pencil, and I also added a brown colour.
