I walked around the jungle area in town again today but was seeing no animals, when all of a sudden I saw this bird swimming. At first I thought it was a duck as I had my glasses off, but when I put them on I noticed it was a cormorant, probably the same one I see here regularly. Now I was really surprised I had no idea cormorants could swim. Turns out, after a Google search that they are expert fisher birds.
This guy swam all the way across this waterway which is over one hundred feet wide very fast, i had to be quick on the click. It really doesn't matter because, again, I use a phone that has a lousy camera and I have essential tremor so all my pictures come out not so clear.
Well he made it to the other side easy, but I did not see it looking for fish. It has been raining a lot and the water has a lot of current, maybe the fish from this part have temporarily moved to the sea. On the other side he met up with a couple of herons, but the zoom of my camera could not catch that. so this is all I have to show for my effort.
