Thanks to all team members of Steem of Animals for giving me opportunity to participate in such an interesting lifestyle topic of discussion. Before I start my presentation I would like to invite three fellow Steemians to participate in the engagement challenge. @viajarparasanar @yakspeace @aprendeconkevin

Are you thinking about adopting a pet or giving it a better life than the one you had?

There is a Dog Temple in Channapatna, Karnataka state of India where dogs are worshiped as GOD. The temple is visited by people from all over the world. The temple was constructed in 2010 to protect the village, by a rich businessman who was advised by the local godess in dream.

Hindus also associate dog with Yamaraj, the Hindu god of death. Dogs are also mentioned in Hindu Vedic verses. There are many benevolent people who also feed street dogs.

In India, situation of street or stray dogs are precarious as their population are uncontrollable due to lack of fund for immunization and neuter. Practically there's no amicably coexistence situation. There is only news and reports and even court order to local bodies. There are reports of 30 dog bites in a Chennai busy street in two hours. This year, Ministry of Family and Health Welfare recorded 2.5 million cases of dog bites in India.

Unfortunately no one likes to keep deshi breed at home.

I would like to adopt such a street dog to provide shelter and food as a senior citizen.

I can manage with the food dog can eat. So a common menu may be followed.

Tell us how you prepare your days with an entire plan for the care and welfare of your pet?

Puppy should awake a 5:30AM to start the day for both summer and winter. One hour walk is sufficient. Before 14-16 weeks or complete vaccination it should not be allowed to interact with other dogs.

After returning home it should be given the first meal of the day. It should be happy as rewarded for the walk.

After 10-15 min it should be taken to the place for poo and pee.

Now I can play with her in the backyard with a ball or toy before grooming. It will not play long, as already tired of walking. One can simply spend time sitting with her for sometime.

Grooming includes activities like nail cutting, bathing, brushing etc. It also includes examining eye, ear, nose and paws to see any initiation of problem.

It should be allowed to stay freely or eat or sleep if it desires to do so.

If he is again energised to play let him play with a tug toy or tossing a ball or anything he likes.

It will be given training of basic commands like name, yes, no, sit, stay, jump, come and heel etc.

It should be taken for afternoon walk so that it can exhaust extra energy and can sleep whole night without whining or barking.
