SOA Contest: "Care of animals."

My dear Pakistani friends let me tell you a little bit about the lovely animals I get to live with and how we look after them. If there are any doubts, then animals are our own siblings of the family and we have promised to care for them. We have two adorable dogs, a playful cat, and an Operations Manager bird in our home. Here I will explain how we protect such special souls and keep them safe within our home atmosphere. At the same time I will allow my opinion as to how to counter one of the problems that surround the society eg Animal Abuse.

Our Pets & Birds

First and foremost, let's get to know our little family members:

1. Kabuli: A 5 years old German Shepherd whose IQ is right next to the playful and cuddly monster he is.
2. Sheru: A 10 year old Black Lab who is very friendly, the sweetest loving dog one can ever come across.
3. Leo: Our Persian cat which is one year old full of spirit especially after waking up from the warmest place in the house to take a nap and with which loves to play with Kabuli.
4. Nico: This is our cheerful African Grey Parrot who loves to repeat what we say and is always quick with suitable words.

This Is How We Treat Our Animals

1. Providing a Safe Environment:
   We ensure that our pets have a place to run, to play and to rest at all times. With this in mind, our house has designed different sections for each animal. Like Kabuli and Sheru, they play with a lot of room to move around and chase each other in their huge yard and then Leo and Nico have their comfy bedding in our sitting room.

1. A Healthy Diet and Regular Check-ups:
   Diet is very important and needed for the health of our dog and cats. From a veterinarian, we obtain nutritional advice to develop special diets that our animals should consume. They must also take their animals for periods of checkup to ensure that they are in their best health, and we recommend a vet who is affiliated with us and offers the best animal care.

2. Quality Time and Love:
   A home is incomplete without ; love and companionship. This involves taking time to ensure that they pet, play with them, feed them and even for a walk with Kabuli and Sheru. Therefore, we should now interact with our animals so that we can possibly reach a level of petting or bonding in a way, also to ensure that their brains are sharp.

3. Grooming and Hygiene:
   They are always out in the garden and they need grooming every single day to be healthy and clean all the time. This includes daily brushing for our dogs, bathing frequently and trimming the nails. Nico’s wings and beak, and Leo’s very beautiful fur which is shaved every week, are trimmed more often.

How to Safe Guard Animals in Our Home

1. Secure Living Space:
   It is important because our animals have secure areas to go, lie down and rest whenever they want to. We have also childproofed our house, to not have the children accessing any danger, and we have further security doors and windows to avoid any intruder within the compound.

2. Safety Measures for Outdoor Activities:
   Also when we_transfer our pets outside, we ensure that they are chocked so that they do not cause an accident or run away. At early morning and evening, and during other free time when dogs are to be taken outside to play we have a fully fenced compound that prevents escapes.

3. Preventing Accidents:
   It is important to master over our dogs so that they don’t go wandering off or cats which shouldn’t claw over furniture. We’ve bothered to train our pets to respond to some commands and exhibit certain manners and traits.

4. Natural Disasters and Emergencies:
   We have an action plan for disasters and emergencies for instance; determination of shelters that allow pets and choosing an evacuation plan. We also have medical insurance for pets for emergency treatment in case the pet gets involved in a mishap or faces aior medical complications.

RANT on no more discrimination against animals

Stories depicting animals as properties, while they have feelings; emotions; and intelligence are wrong. This all abetted is integrity of treaties and it has the right to be treated with courtesy. There are al kinds of mistreatment happening to animals in Pakistan and around the globe by humanity. We again need to be good samaritans, responsible dog owners, and good citizens and spread awareness and rights for animals.

This is especially important to establish the end of this injustice through legislation, and the subsequent implementation of these laws. More laws that can prevent animal cruelty, or that can prevent the abandonment or neglect of animals should be passed into law and policed. Also, creating awareness about the need to care for animals will reduce on suffering of animals by the public.

By promoting responsible pet ownership, we also have our responsibility. We must be looking at the ongoing health, medical and accommodations for our much loved pets. Animals who have been abused and tortured tend to escape that time of pain and turmoil when people take them in and provide them with a new home.

Last but not least such animals should be respected and even empathized with. Even if it’s a stray dog or a wild animal rescued from the jungle, they never should be left alone and uncared. This means that the humanity will evolve itself, and then finally becomes sensitive to any suffering of animals and respects every living creature.

Consequently, what we feed our animals we should eat ourselves, and our animals are a part of us and we have a duty to protect them. In giving love and proper respect to our pets we are able to give the a happier and fulfilled life and at the same impart the virtue of empathy and sympathy to every animals. In one way or bung we have to stop the suffer and discrimination of animal that we have to live better with every form of life.
