Grow Your Own - Some of the roosters have grown up

A few months ago I bought 10 roosters, but because I don't have the experience to care for them, now I only have 5 chickens left and one large rooster that my in-laws gave me as a gift, the rest have died due to bird flu.

At first I bought rooster seeds just for fun, but when I saw some of them grow big I started to like them and thought there was no harm in starting a new business in the field of chicken farming.

Apart from that, having several chickens is also very beneficial, because leftover food (rice) is no longer wasted, we can make use of it by giving it to the chickens.

Is it difficult to provide chicken feed?

I have a frugal way to ensure chicken feed is sufficient, apart from buying special feed provided by outlets, I also work around this by giving leftover food, such as leftover rice, coconut dregs, bananas produced in my own garden.

Apart from that, I also provide rice dregs (husk) once a week, rice dregs are very easy to get, we only need to take them from the rice mill factory for free without having to pay, in the rice dregs there are lots of small pieces of rice that pass through the filter during the process rice refinery, so it is very suitable as a reserve for chicken food.

I will use these chickens as a model for a chicken farming business plan with a larger number in the future. I must first study the stages and processes in detail so that the chicken seeds are not easily affected by viruses and I also have to study the type of feed that is suitable so that Chicken growth is faster, considering that the growth of free-range chickens is generally slower than boiler chickens.

Actually it is very easy to live in a rural environment, there are many things we can do to generate additional income, because generally people who live in rural areas have large areas of land, so with large areas of land we can take advantage of many things, such as gardening, raising chickens, freshwater fish cultivation and many others, but most people need capital to start any business.

Beberapa ayam jantan telah tumbuh besar

Beberapa bulan yang lalu saya sempat membeli 10 bibit ayam jantan, namun karena belum berpengalaman untuk merawatnya sekarang hanya tersisa 5 ayam dan satu ayam jantan besar yang dihadiahkan mertua saya, sisanya sudah mati akibat serangan flu burung.

Awalnya saya membeli bibit ayam jantan hanya sekedar iseng-iseng saja, namun saat melihat beberapa mereka tumbuh besar saya mulai menyukainya dan berfikir tidak ada salahnya jika saya memulai usaha baru di bidang peternakan ayam.

Selain itu memiliki beberapa ayam juga sangat bermanfaat, karena sisa makanan (nasi) tidak terbuang lagi, kita dapat memanfaatkan dengan memberikan kepada ayam-ayam tersebut.

Apakah sulit untuk memenuhi pakan ayam?

Saya memiliki cara hemat untuk pakan ayam agar tercukupi, selain membeli pakan khusus yang di sediakan outlet, saya juga mensiasati dengan salah satunya memberikan sisa makanan, seperti sisa nasi, ampas kelapa, pisang yang dihasilkan di kebun sendiri.

Selain itu saya juga menyediakan ampas padi (sekam) setiap satu minggu sekali, ampas padi sangat mudah didapatkan, kita hanya perlu mengambilnya di pabrik penggilingan padi secara cuma-cuma tampa harus membayar, di dalam ampas padi terdapat banyak beras kecil yang lolos saringan saat proses pengilangan padi, sehingga sangat cocok untuk dijadikan cadangan makan ayam.

Ayam-ayam ini akan saya jadikan sebagai percontohan untuk rencana bisnis peternakan ayam dengan jumlah yang lebih banyak nantinya, saya harus mempelajari terlebih dahulu tahapan- tahapan dan proses secara detail agar bibit ayam tidak mudah terkena virus dan saya juga harus mempelajari jenis pakan yang cocok agar pertumbuhan ayam lebih cepat, mengingat pertumbuhan jenis ayam kampung pada umumnya lebih lambat dibandingkan ayam boiler.

Sebenarnya sangat mudah hidup di lingkungan perdesaan, ada banyak hal yang dapat kita lakukan untuk menghasilkan penghasilan tambahan, karena pada umumnya orang yang hidup di pedesaan memiliki lahan yang luas, sehingga dengan lahan yang luas kita dapat memanfaatkan banyak hal, seperti berkebun, ternak ayam, budidaya ikan tawar dan banyak lainnya, namun sebagain besar orang terkenal pada modal untuk memulai bisnis apapun.
