Steem of Animals Community is now one year old and it is one of the place for users where they can write make posts about their loved pets and in general about animals.
We know that pets are the best friends of human and often we see that they are like our family members. Some of animals are just there to be a company for human, another their to provide us some food. Either way it is very important part of our life and it is good to have such place where we can write such posts.
For today I decided to take a part in artistic section and share with you my drawing.
Drawing animals is something that could be a little tricky because of the anatomy, we do not get used to do that so often but I still thought why not just try.
When you do something, you need to make sure that you know approximately how you want to plan your drawing.
As to me, recently I started to use a ball pen for drawing, the reason why I do it is simple. Pen does not forgive when you make a mistake, you can not erase what you drawn, but you can correct slightly using more shadows. Pen drawings are rough and quick sketch, so do not concentrate much on details, it is not important. Why then you do it with pen:
- drawing with pen will let you to concentrate on proportions
- you will be more attentive and will try not to do mistakes
- it is quick
- it is a first step to your drawing
So here is my first sketch:
Now next step to start drawing, I like using graphite pencil and usually 2B strength.
To tell the truth I never tried to do drawing of a horse, so this is my first attempt at all, that is why I decided to do the head of a horse rather than a whole animal. I love those majestic animals especially when they run. Maybe next time I will try to draw running horse too.
I usually start careful, lightly touching with my pencil the surface of paper without pressure marks. When you do that first time do not be upset if your first lines do not remind a shape of horse, it still might come nicely. Just continue your work.
Try to add some details and maybe a bit of shading, again do not press to hard because your pencil the the same so colour should be equal.
You should love and enjoy your drawing, so please spend time for details and try not to use eraser very often, pencil drawing does not like eraser.

Hello colleague stef1, what a great drawing, you got quality, you are right in saying that: "Drawing with a pen will allow us to make fewer mistakes", every time we try to draw something we will try not to have errors which is a help to make it more persuasive what we draw.
The steps in your drawing are well done, and it would be nice to see your drawing of a running horse.

I absolutely agree with you, it was a great chance to get that inspiration and try to do the drawing, I really enjoyed, will try to get back to drawing more often. Yes, it will be interesting to try running horse, so need to study a bit :)
