Hello friends!

Hope everyone in this group is hearty and Healthy, as for me I'm good. It's my pleasure the participate in this Contest, and I'm grateful to the admin of this great Community @imamalkimas, and @mudajuli, and the moderators @ahyar92 and@lidiasteem. Thanks @ahyar92 for initiating this Contest because it will help everyone in this group to know the situation of the deadly pandemic in different countries, and the measure to take to curb it.

Highlights of Covid-19 in Nigeria

Recently 31 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria, and Till date, 165809 cases have been confirmed, 156420 cases have been discharged and 2067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the federal capital of Nigeria, Abuja

GOVERNMENT MEASURE

  • Nigerian government has put restrictions on gatherings outside work place settings with a maximum number of 50 people in enclose spaces.
  • Approved assembly can only be held with physical distancing measures, and that non- pharmaceutical interventions(NPIS) Should be in place and enforce.
  • checking of temperature, and "No Mask No Entry" policy was made in public places like recreational centers, markets, shopping malls, and places of worship
  • lastly enforcement of compulsory requirements for a 7-days quarantine for all international passenger arriving from other countries was made.

GENERAL MOVEMENT

  • They was no formal restrictions on movement within the country, but due to risks of contracting the virus citizens were encouraged to hold back from unnecessary movement. And stick to non-pharmaceutical intervention guidelines such as wearing of face mask in the public
  • The aged and people with underlining issues are strongly urged to stay home and avoid crowds.

AIR TRANSPORT
▪ traveling was discouraged
▪ travelers must abide by all
existing protocols earlier issued by the PSC;
▪ Passengers are to arrive early for flights to avoid being delayed because of additional measure that was put in place(1.5 hours for domestic flights and 3 hours international flights); and
▪ Lastly all the arriving international passengers are to register with the Nigeria International Travel Portal
and abide by the travel guidelines.

LAND AND RAIL TRANSPORT

(previously divided into
inter-state and intra-state
travel)
▪ No limitations on inter or intra-state travel;
▪ All passengers and travelers are to wear face masks, wash their hands with soap under running water and sanitize with alcohol-based sanitizers before and after each trip; and
▪ Security agencies are given the authority to enforce the use of non-pharmaceutical interventions including the use of facemasks, hand sanitisers and temperature checks in all rail stations, bus and motor

INDUSTRY & LABOUR
WORKING ARRANGEMENT

▪ virtual meetings is encouraged by offices. While large gatherings is discouraged, offices are ensure they are well-ventilated; to avoid congestions
▪ Workers are encourage to work from their home where possible;
▪ Rules are made where courts can enforce on-the-spot fines and close premises that repeatedly violate rules;
▪ Obligatory use of face masks, NO FACE MASK, NO ENTRY
▪ Ensure that all NPIs are observed. Compulsory and proper use of face masks in all government premises.

COMMUNITY AND COMMERCIAL SPACES

▪ Spot checks of commercial premises are conducted regularly;
▪ They should get all the necessary non-pharmaceutical interventions; and
▪ Facility owners/managers and store owners to ensure that physical distancing is observed, provision of hand sanitisers
and hand washing facilities, ensure the mandatory use of face masks and maintain environmental hygiene.

HOSPITALITY AND ENTERTAINMENT
FACILITIES**

▪ All meet ups to remain restricted to 50 persons except with explicit permission of the State Government;
▪ All bars, night clubs, pubs and event centres are to remain closed;
▪ Fast foods to adhere to 50% eat-in capacity, except those providing services to hotel residents, takeaways, home
deliveries and drive-ins are allowed; and

  • For hotels to remain open it must observe all the NPi protocols

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
(Daycare, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary)
▪ are to Observe all mandatory non-pharmaceutical intervention

RELIGIOUS CENTRES
(Churches/Mosques, etc.)
▪ gatherings linked to religious are limited to less than 50% capacity to ensure physical distancing; face masks are mandatory;
▪ Assembly of more than 50 persons must be held outdoors only; and
▪ Observe all mandatory non-pharmaceutical interventions.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

GATHERINGS
(Weddings, Parties, Meetings, etc.)
▪ All informal and formal like wedding, conference seminars etc involving more than 50 persons are no longer allowed. carnivals and street parties are banned For now
▪ A must wearing of facemasks;
▪ All attendees must wash or sanitize their hands before and after attendance; and
▪ Physical distancing must be adhered by all.

Violations
▪ Each state Government are to set up mobile tribunal for the prosecution of violators; and
▪ Security agents are given authority to make arrests for violations
under the Health Protection Regulation 2021.

MYSELF:

  • I personally adhere to all the rules of covid-19
  • I don't attend any public gatherings more than 50 persons

  • I attended my christians worship via zoom
  • I regularly and thoroughly wash my hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use disposable saver and dry my hands.
    -I use alcohol base sanitizer and Rob in my hands where water is not available.
  • I maintain or keep distance of at least 2meters (6feett) away from people who are sneezing or coughing.
  • I wear my face mask always when am out.
  • I make sure me and my family maintain respiratory hygiene by covering our nose and mouth with tissue while coughing and sneezing and disposed it properly immediately.
  • I stay home when I feel unwell .

The coronavirus pandemic is now "the new normal", we must try as hard as possible we can to adhere to the guidelines of the covid-19, in order not to contract the deadly virus that has no cure. our personal hygiene can not be over-emphasized in this case.
