Because of its importance a lot of people have different sayings about water, some say water is the mother of life while others will say water has no enemy, all these sayings imply how important and resourceful water is.

To simply define water, according to the Britannica, water is a substance composed of the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen and it exists in various forms or states which are mainly, gaseous, liquid and solid. At room temperature, good water is tasteless and odorless also having the ability to dissolve many other substances. Water occupies about 71% of the earth's space, oh how abundant this substance is.
Even as a kid you did readily mention the various uses of water daily, because personally you almost see it every and use it for almost everything you do. But with it's abundance, how safe is the water you use? As the world's population increases, so also is the demand for clean and safe water increasing.
Water is essential but clean and safe water is quintessential, hence the rising nerd for man to source for clean and safe water or better still an avenue to make the available water safe and clean.
In most developing countries, the problem of safe water is on the high side because of inadequate infrastructure and inactive public health systems. But are there things you can do Individually to ensure your water is safe?
Here are some tips that can be helpful ;

1.Try to discover your water source, this will give you a clue if it's safe or not.
2.Do not establish things that will contaminate water near water sources. Such things as poultry, dump sites, compost yards, etc should be far from water sources.
3.Dispose waste and other hazardous materials properly. Most times running water carries this harmful substances into major water sources thereby making it unsafe for use.
4.If your locality often comes up with a cleanup drive, please avail yourself. During such processes the environment is kept clean and water sources made safe too.

5 .If the water available in your area is conventionally unsafe, you can boil such water and you could get a safe one for use.
6.You can also use water purifier to purify your water. But while doing that make sure you are obeying the instructions laid down by relevant health authorities.
