PRACTICAL FOOD SAFETY TIPS @starnation.

Greetings steemians, am glad to be here amongst such health focused folks as you people are in this steem health care community.
This is my first time of writing in this community and I will try my best to contribute wisely and also send out a sound health focused write up.

It's a popular thing to hear people say, health is wealth. Good health is almost incomparable to nothing, hence the need for everyone to ensure healthy living conditions for him or herself. I also hear people say, you are what you eat. Do you believe that? Well I do believe it 100%,let me tell you why.

One of the major factors that determines an individual s health status is the type and nature of food the person consumes, if a person consumes the right food, which is also safe, such person will rarely get sick. The same happens vice versa.

As a Biologist and a lover of good health, through the course of my studies I have been able to curl up certain measures one can take to ensure the food he/she consumes is safe, read through as I list them below.

TIPS ON ENSURING FOOD SAFETY.

Practice good personal hygiene, it is paramount that we always remember the safe act of hand washing, when you use the toilet, touch waste or dead animals. Please washing your hands before touching any food item.

Ensure your environment which specifically entails your kitchen is clean and free from houseflies, because those are often the major vectors of diseases.

Don't consume counterfeit food products or even expired products. Such practice could lead to serious health issues and possible death.

Know when to trash spoilt food items, please do not consume spoilt food.

Separate ready to eat foods such as fruits and vegetables from raw meat, poultry, seafood and eggs.

Ensure you keep kitchen cutting surfaces clean and use different cutting surfaces for different type of foods. For example vegetables and meat.

Ensure you wash your vegetables and fruits properly, under running water before consumption.

Ensure your food is properly cooked. Cook food thoroughly because, half cooked food is equally unsafe to eat.

Store food properly, refrigerate at proper temperature.

If you use store houses for food items make sure such store houses are free from rodents and roaches, these too are vectors of diseases.

Store leftovers properly, wrap, seal or cover them in storage containers.

Last but not the least, ensure your sponges are not breeding places for bacteria and other disease causing elements. Sanitize them often.
