Where It All Began

The Bakery named as JC Misquita Bakery is located at a very crowded area of my city, Karachi. Not only is it one of the best and historical bakeries of my city but also the taste, quality, quantity says it all.
Learning a little bit more about the Bakery I came to know that this bakery started as a home business which soon turned into a store and then a bakery because of the love, the customers give them and the huge amount of sells they had each day.

JC Misquita Bakery is one of the oldest bakeries of Karachi. It was owned by a Christian man Joseph Cajetan Misquita and dates back to 1858.
After the dead of the owner , the wife of the owner sold the bakery to one of the staff workers during 1970s, whose family ,to date runs the bakery and continues to carry the traditional buns.
This bakery is like a sacred place for all the Christian Community in terms of food .The Bakery sells hot cross Buns ,Pastries of 2 types and Easter eggs on occasions. They have a special discount on Christmas and on Easter and that is the time when they have the most sales.

They sells Hot cross buns on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while on Thursday and Friday they have a token system for food purchases where they have to line up and take orders according to the token no. People from all around the country come to take purchases on these days.

Hence, JC Misquita Bakery is the best Bakeries of my city and it is a good example for historical culture and Old Karachi.

The owner of the Bakery is a good friend of my dad. He was grateful enough to send a lot of items to us as a appreciation to a work my dad did for him.

A Taste of History

The items that were sent to us included chocolate Brownies ,Caramel candy, Hot cross buns, Easter eggs.

Chocolate Brownies:

The brownies already shouted "Home Made". They were super fresh and they had that fudge textured in them. They were cutely cut into pieces already and they had almonds in them.
The texture, almonds the chocolate flavor each and everything added a lot of flavor and taste to the chocolate brownies.
The caramel ones were the exact same as the Chocolate Brownies in terms of shape and size. The taste was of course different.

Hot Cross Buns:

These are the specialty of the Js Misquita bakery. And these have been running since decades now. A lot of the Christian community buy these cross buns on different occasions like Christmas and Easter. Not only the Christian community but even Muslims and Hindus buy treats from the bakery and enjoy having them. I love how religion is not a discrimination here and the items , % sales are equal to all irrespective of ones religion.
The buns were super tasty and as fresh as out of the Oven. They had raisins on them which were dry but the dryness was giving it a better taste. I can literally tell why they are the most selling item of the bakery. I enjoyed the buns along with some tea and it served as a perfect Combo.

Easter Eggs:

The Easter Eggs is the most amazing and super favorite item that we received. I used to think that Easter eggs had toys inside of it. I used to think that It was only in films and cartoons and that it wasn't truly real.
But all thanks to the Bakery for satisfying my wishes along with my craving.
As soon as I opened the easter egg ,It was a big chocolate egg and I can feel something moving inside of it. Out of curiosity I checked opened it and I found a toy inside of it.
It was super fun , I loved experiencing it. The chocolate egg was very milky and very creamy .I had enjoyed eating it as well.

Cross Buns , Caramel Sweet ,Brownies and Easter Eggs.

So, These were some historical treats and delights that were sent to us and we enjoyed having them. I am super grateful to the uncle who send these treats to us.
The ratio of the Christian community in our city is 6% and that of Hindus is 1%. It`s good to see people doing such good things to represent there community. Once, you start doing good . Trust me , The encouragement comes from every where.

I was eager to do a appreciation post and show my respect and love for the community ,there efforts ,there work and each and everything.
Secondly, I would love to appreciate each and everyone working hard to make things happen . Keep doing it!

The Success Will Last Long

Thankyou Everyone
