Woman, Source of Inspiration and Courage

Hello friends of Recreative Steem, how are we all doing...trust we are doing great?

The contest topic is a great one and aims to show the Strength and courage drawn from women. Being in the midst of women has made me see their sacrifice, resilience, strength and courage each day. From my Mother to my Grandmother, colleagues and friends; I have had a handful of women around me. And they have added positively to my life, they have been an inspiration in all areas of my life.

Desiring to be better daily is what I always aim for and this has been my goal daily. There are a lot of ways and things I draw my inspiration from and one of them is the good attributes of a woman. Created with an ambience of love and hospitality, women are an inspiration that we all need in life. The following are qualities of women to which I draw inspiration from.

• Sacrifice: This is one quality of women that makes me feel inspired. Women can sacrifice everything for the one they love unconditionally. They can go to any length to make sure they give their all. This quality has been a thing of amazement to me as I wonder how they are able to even sacrifice their whole life to make sure they get what they want.

• Unconditional Love: From unconditional love comes sacrifice and women are known to love unconditionally. This particular quality is what I find most inspiring in women. And I have experienced it first hand.

• Perseverance and Strength:
  Women are known to persevere and they are also strong. An important quality of women is how strong they are. A woman is an inspiration of strength.

A woman's dedication and sacrifice affect people around her. My great grandmother put in sacrifices to make sure that my parents became great in life. They were just peasant farmers and they tried their best to send my parents to school. This in turn affected my parents positively. Now we can see that sacrifices from women can go a long way in affecting our lives. My mom is an icon of sacrifice in my life as she as done everything to make sure that we become the best.

There are stories of many women who have influenced my life positively and changed my perception of strength and goodness. A perfect example in our state is Mary Slessor, a young Missionary who helped in stopping the killing of twins in This part of the world. She saved babies who were damned to died and took care of them. This shows strength and determination. She was determined to make sure that people see that there was no wrong in birthing twins. And she succeeded.

Another story is the Women riot in 1929 which happened in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State. Tells the story of some set of women who stood up to fight for their rights. They showed strength against task masters.

A woman is a beacon of hope that for sure one can love another unconditionally...this can be seen in the love of a mother for her son. This brings hope to the world that humanity isn't dead. There is still hope that we can be kind to one another and this is because Women have that capability to show love and determination.

I want to take this time out to thank my Mom who has been a beacon of hope, encouragement, love, kindness and hospitality. She has taught us how to persevere, how to show strength and how to be kind. She is a source of inspiration and courage. She taught me that I can Sacrifice unconditionally for the ones I love and this has been my source of inspiration daily.

My mother, means the whole world to me...

Just like her name NSEOBONG, which is a native name meaning I look up to God which can translate into hoping and trusting in God. She has given us that hope and courage everyday.
