Hi everyone!

I hope you all are doing well and in good health. It is been a wonderful experience to be part of this amazing platform connecting with people from all over the world. Recently, I was thinking about content to share and decided to focus on the vibrant culture and traditions of Pakistan. This time I have chosen to highlight the Vibes of Pakistani Weddings from the various events and their duration to the lively get togethers and memorable night stays

The Wedding Preparations

The preparation for a wedding is one of the most exciting aspects of Pakistani weddings, whether you are from the groom’s side or the bride’s side. The shopping experience has its own charm. The best places to find wedding dresses for brides or bridesmaids are the local markets. People in Pakistan often prefer to buy unstitched clothes and design them to their liking. Additionally, they shop for jewelry, gifts, fabrics, sandals, and more

The Wedding Begins

Pakistani weddings can last up to a week with three main functions (Nikkah, Barat, and Valima) and two optional functions Mayoun and Mehndi.but the most important among all is NIKKAH

Sequences of Functions

1. Nikkah

In Pakistan, the Nikkah can take place well in advance of the wedding week, during the week of the wedding, or even on the Barat day. Brides usually wear a white dress with a touch of gold or another color; currently, white is trendy in Pakistan. However, it is not compulsory, and brides can wear any color, although white is often chosen to enhance the Nikkah bridal look. Once the Nikkah is performed, the bride and groom are officially recognized as husband and wife. Some families prefer to hold a larges venue Nikkah ceremony, while others opt for a simple ceremony in a Masjid (Mosque) or in their house . Some prefer outdoor events based on the number of guests invited.

2. Mayoun and Mehndhi
These are optional events, and those who prefer a simple wedding often eliminate them. The Mayun and Mehndi ceremonies, also known as Henna Day, are marked by the color yellow because everyone and bride wears yellow and green colour dresses , including decorate their houses , and staying up all night and singing songs , chit chat , the bride and bridesmaids, applying henna all night .

These events are mostly divided into two days, happening separately for the bride and groom. On each day, the in-laws are invited to each other's houses and bring gifts and bari (bride's dresses) for the bride and the same for the groom's side. There is no henna tradition for boys, so on the groom's side, it's just a small get-together of both families before the wedding.

3.Barat
The Barat is the main event after the Nikkah and is arranged by the bride's family. The groom's family attends as guests, along with all family members, friends, and relatives. Red is the traditional color for this day, symbolizing the bridal look, and it is compulsory . The groom typically wears a traditional Sherwani.. The Barat event is typically held in a large venue, such as a banquet hall, to accommodate 200 to 300 people. At the end of the event, the bride takes her farewell from her family and goes with her in-laws. .

4.Reception
the last event is the reception, known as the Valima, which take place a day after barat which is arranged by the groom's side of the family, with the bride's side invited as guests. It follows a similar pattern to the Barat, with family, friends, and relatives attending to celebrate the newlyweds.

The reception serves as an opportunity for the couple to introduce themselves to the groom's extended family, friends, and community. and sharing a meal with loved ones.

After a week of celebrations, the wedding finally comes to an end. This is a glimpse into the rich traditions and culture of Pakistani weddings. However, as mentioned earlier, the scope and nature of wedding events can vary significantly from person to person. Some people who prefer a simpler wedding may choose to focus only on the Nikkah and reception.

Pakistani weddings are full of love, vibrant colors, family gatherings, and shared meals, all reflecting deep family values. Personally, I particularly enjoy the bride's side because it involves so many fun, girly activities. Despite the emotional farewell as the bride leaves, the entire week is filled with heartfelt emotions and love for her. ❤️

This is just a small glimpse into the vibrant and colorful side of Pakistan. I look forward to sharing more about our traditions and culture in the future. I hope you enjoyed reading this
