Procrastination is like using a credit card: it's great fun until the bill arrives

(Christopher Parker)

The bad habit of postponing everything can also cost you your health...

Tomorrow I'll clear the backlog of work, start my diet on Monday and sign up for tennis...
How many promises do you make without keeping even one? You always say "I'll do it tomorrow", but that tomorrow never comes.

Laziness or fear of failure?

Putting off until tomorrow what could be done today, starting something without finishing it, stalling and not meeting deadlines means "procrastinating".
Why do you act like this?
Insecurity, fear of making a mistake, laziness and inability to give due weight to things are the most frequent causes.
And so you become unreliable and your body suffers as well.

Anxiety and stress run wild

Reducing yourself to always doing things at the last moment forces you to live in a state of constant stress ("Will I make it?") which negatively affects the body, weakening the immune system and making the cardio vascular system work too much.
In the face of a stressful event seen as dangerous, a series of changes take place in the body that allow it to cope with that emergency.

An eerie picture

Heart rate, blood pressure and the amount of blood flowing to the brain and muscles increase, the adrenal glands secrete hormones that prepare the lungs and muscles to attack, glucose enters the bloodstream and adipose tissue frees reserve fats to provide the energy needed to face the imminent effort.
Furthermore, constant stress weakens the immune system, which is no longer able to fight infections and allergies.

3 tips to go from procrastinating to doing

1
YOU LEARN WRONG.

Procrastination is not a winning behavior: facing things leads to understanding, knowing and growing.
not doing them instead paralyzes and makes self-esteem waver. With the risk of falling into a vicious circle: by continuing to postpone, the fear of making a mistake increases and everything is more frightening, even if it is precisely from mistakes that one has the opportunity to learn new things.

2
SPLIT THE GOAL INTO MULTIPLE STEPS

The bigger and more complicated the task before you is, the more it scares you and makes you want to face it.
But if you divide it into several parts and start dedicating yourself to the simpler ones, you will find the strength and courage to achieve the set goal. And when you've done it Everything will seem much simpler than you initially thought.

3
THE ANTI.PROCRASTINATION DIET

List the 30 things you put off most often (sorting emails, going for a run, making the bed...) and commit to doing one a day for a month.
Eventually you'll realize that it takes little to meet those commitments, and being able to do so will reward you and make you feel stronger and more combative. Ready to face your commitments at the right time and calmly.
