I like corn the most when its grilled. How about you?
Hello everyone! Its a pleasure to be able to write and share stories with you again today!
This article is about the time when I and my family visited the farm and we were able to enjoy grilled corn under the mango tree.
We usually go to the farm every Sunday when it is my wife's day off from work to visit our crops. We planted cassava and corn and we make sure they are well maintained but as the rain comes often, the weeds grow faster as well. And we could not keep up cleaning after them since we have a very limited time spent at the farm but we are doing everything we can to keep our crops happy.
Anyway, my wife's cousin had planted corn ahead of us and it already bear fruit and is ready to consume so I and my wife took some of the corn for us to cook.
We are all like a family, but they were not around since they had already left for church so we were not able to tell them we took some. Don't worry, they do the same when our crops bear fruit as well and we don't mind as long as they only take enough to eat; we only took enough to eat as well and we make sure it won't go to waste. It's a give and take for us.
I took few ears of corn and my wife grilled them for me as I went to work in the field. We both like grilled corn because it tastes sweeter than boiled and is much easier and faster to prepare
But our son likes boiled corn more and he felt disappointed when he saw the corn with black in them (Shown in the first picture). But we did not know it at first and he demanded that his share should not have those black in them. Good thing my son is easy to talk with and agreed soon after Being explained that boiling corn is hard since we were in the farm and the source of water was too far from the place we stayed at.
Soon he took the corn and enjoyed them like we did.
My mother in law's dog was watching us eat, she was well behaved and waited for us to feed her and of course she always have a share of food every time we eat.
Pardon me for being very camera-shy but I enjoyed the corn as I watched the nature around me that time.
Corn(not sweet corn) is only ready to eat for a short time since it could be too young or too old and hard to eat as they become more mature and ready for harvest.
I make sure to enjoy with the little delicacies in life whenever they are available.
Do you enjoy grilled corn too?
