[med] Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) to liver tumor. Trans-arterial chemo ...

... -embolization (TACE) is the first consideration for inoperable hepatocellular carcinoma, but SBRT can solve the problems with vessel invasion or insufficient TACE filling. SBRT can focus high dose of radiation only into the tumor and rest of the body in the same plane will receive only low doses.

Nice post

Good

Thanks~!!

1st time seeing a tumor

haha it's just a radiologic image-. real tumor photo might be gross :/

Ok I understand 🙂 thank you

Is the radiation precisely aimed at cancer cells only? Even if it is in the same area, is it not irradiated to normal cells? I'm curious to know

It dose irradiate to normal cells as well. In the past, the radiation technique was not precise to avoid the normal tissue, so we used to irradiate for long time to provide normal tissue to recover well. But, now we can irradiate where we want very precisely, so we can avoid normal organs physically, but it can damage normal tissues if the tumor is abut or invasive to them.

Thank you so much for the explanation 🙂👍

Thats amazing.

Thanks for this post, Very informative, I've never seen an image of this disease.

Nice explaination about radiation

Thank You for Your insights...
