Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Heb. 1:14. The word “angel” is used 294 times in the Scripture which shows us how vital angels are. “Angel”, by interpretation from both Hebrew and Greek, means messenger. A messenger is someone who runs errands and assignments on your behalf. Where the ministry of angels is properly understood, they become what they were created to be in our lives – messengers, to do several things for us. Apart from the Holy Spirit, the ministry of angels is another provision of God that is usually underutilised. However, if believers grasp the meaning of angels’ ministry and deploy them effectively, then most of the problems we face today in church will be solved. They have been empowered to do our biddings and until we give commands, they will remain redundant. Have you left the angel in your life redundant? He has been assigned to minister to your needs. As you pray, learn to give commands and they will obey.
In addition, it is important to note that angels are not emotional beings. That is, they do not respond to tears but to the Word of God. It therefore means that any believer who consistently prays the Word is also sending the angels on errand who will ensure that the Word that has been spoken is carried out. They are committed to carrying out God's commands to the latter. They do not give up; they are unrelenting until the last jot of God's Word is accomplished as it has been said. This is one of the reasons why God has said in Isaiah 55:11, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. It is because God has made provision for this to happen that He assures us that His Word must come to pass.
We must also know that it is in God's character not to do anything on earth without the contribution of man. This is the reason why even when He has made provision for man, He gives him the opportunity to have an input. It is in view of this that despite the fact that He has provided angels to minister to our needs, He has left the aspect of giving commands to us so that we can participate in what He is doing. Therefore, one will not blame God for unanswered prayer when one has not issued any command. Do your own part today by engaging your ministering angel in prayer.
