Hello steemains I am glad to be participating in this Contest where I will talking about my culture.
First if all let's look at the word culture.

CULTURE SIMPLY PUT, IS THE WAY OF LIVE OF PEOPLE LEAVING IN A PARTICULAR PLACE IT INCLUDE BELIEFS,ARTS WHICH IS PASSED ON FROM ONE GENERATION TO ANOTHER

I am a Nigerian from Enugu State Isi-uzo local government area and with that I will be specified about the culture in Enugu State Isi-uzo local government area.

I will be talking about the new yam festival in Igbo land
In Igbo yam farming had been a major source of living for most people especially Yam, we are well known for our cultivation of yams and it is a culture that once in a year, Harvesting of the yam should be done and they organize festival with masquerades to celebrate different festivals, the most popular is the New Yam festival.
During the new yam festival, each family is expected to come with two tubers of yam from their farm and carry it along while coming to the market square for the festival.

Few days to the festival a masquerade will dance round the community, and it is a Culture that no lady/woman should be seen outside during the parades of the masquerade. Most people believe the masquerade are deadly and spiritual and as such must not be seen by anyone who bends down to urinate.
Once in a year, the villager's gather to celebrate their fruitful harvest.

I haven't really visited my village for a while I write based on story told by my dad.
