Hello steemians,
This post tells about mangroves in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, it's delapidation and restoration tactics.

Mangroves are salt tolerant intertidal plants which have very high adaptive features. It's environment embodies various Flora and fauna species and so play very important role. Mangroves provide very important goods and services to it's ecosystem. These goods include food, boat building materials, charcoal, fish, shrimp. The services include serving as habitat for species and serving as spawning grounds for species during the breeding season.
However, due to the high oil infestation in aquatic system of the Niger Delta, mangroves have severely deteriorated as a result of very low oxygen in the region, and so there is a great loss.
Restoration tatics are however emerging. And one of which is the replanting of lost mangroves, also known as recruitment.

I participated in the "operation plant a Mangrove" as one of the volunteers. I and my colleagues are hoping that this gives a positive result at the end in order to save our ecosystem.

Thank you for reading through, I'm grateful.
