I'll be showing us how I made an hair band for a friend I guess sharing the process here with us might help someone here to develop a new skill additional to whatever the person is currently doing at hand. For the sake of those who would want to practice along with me, I will be listing the items I used in making the hair band.

• Stones(pearls)
• Ankara fabric
• Gum
• Alice ban
• Tread and needle

One of the best ways to know a woman of elegance is by the kind of accessories she uses as a complement for her outfit. I hope the ladies got my back on this.

The making process

Speed is not the best in the journey of beauty but carefulness so we might just take a little time to get this done properly in order to get the true beauty of it.

The beauty of this hair ban is centered on that black round shape stuff by the scissor and it is what is called alice band so we will have to fabricate it to give us what we want and since we are doing an ankara hair ban, we have to cover it with our ankara material so just follow me and see how I did that.

• I applied gum to the alice band and covered it with my ankara material perfectly to avoid any lapses and to have it perfectly finished and after that I did the next thing which is to stitch the edges of the ankara material together to hold it firm to the alice band and just because you gum it doesn't mean that it enough, just make sure to stitch it and once you're done with that we can now move to the next thing.

Now you have to understand that you can't use the whole material to cover the alice band alone and you just have to cut the material according to the size of your alice band. The alice band I am using here is three inch long and ten inch wide so I will be cutting out my ankara material to the size of my alice band but I have to add about five extra inch for the width to properly cover the alice band while the length will be at the actual.

This is how mine was maybe yours might not be like mine pending on the size of your alice band.

Once you are done with covering the alice band, you move to making a ruffle. So the style of this hair band is a ruffle kind so from here I will be making my ruffle.

• Please never forget to always measure everything so I measured and cut out 12inch by 40inch material for my ruffle

After cutting it, fold the two edges together and stitch the two edges together and as you stitch, by dragging the tread so you will have your ruffles or better still you could finish stitching before dragging to get your ruffles and either of the methods is still correct.

After stitching and dragging, your ruffle must look exactly like this then turn the bad side in just so you will have exactly what you are seeing here.

After this you place your ruffles on your alice band and stitch the ruffle again to the alice band just like this.

When you place the ruffles on the alice band, stitch the ruffles to the edge of the alice band and make sure your tread is not showing after the stitch so you should decided on the type of stitching style to use just so that you avoid the tread from showing.
