THE POWER OF PATIENCE, CONSISTENCY AND ENDURANCE.
Today, I will be concluding my Campus experience. I posted part 1 four days ago. Please click the link below to read part one click here for part 1
On getting to Ogbomoso, I wrote LAUTECH entrance exam and I scored above pass mark. Then, the process of admission started. I was not given admission when the first batch came out and so also the second batch but my brother saw his name on second batch. Then it began to dawn on me..... Then a brother said "the only list that will be posted next is senate list and it is not for everybody" The reality of his word shook my faith. I informed Mummy about this and she told me to have faith that I will surely gain admission. I then hoped in God, I prayed and believed in God. To the glory of God, when the last list came out, I was given admission to study Agronomy in the faculty of Agriculture in LAUTECH.
The lesson here is that, with God, all things are possible. And everything works together for good to those who love God. You may not know, you may be helping somebody without knowing that you are helping yourself. Had it been I didn't not go to where I was sent to collect the slip for this fellow student, I might not have met the woman and my admission wouldn't have been possible that year. My advice to those who are reading this memoir is to do whatever you can in a little way you can to help anybody you can. You can never tell, you may be helping yourself while you are helping others.
So, my journey in LAUTECH began. I was very happy because I got admission and at the same time not happy because I was not given engineering, my dreamed course. But this does not kill my morale. I worked hard and study hard to have good grade so i can cross out of the faculty of Agriculture to engineering after my first year. I want to say that no department is bad, but every person must follow his passion for maximum effectiveness.
To them that believe, everything is possible, I later crossed to the faculty of engineering. But before then, the crossing stuff is not that easy in my amal mater. My brother and I were just shuffling the lecture from both faculty till the crossing process materialized. It was not easy, but God really helped us.
What really helped me was that I discovered myself early enough. I can read at anytime of the day. The first step to success is self discovering. So, I crossed to Mechanical Engineering department. Then, the real process now began. 200L first semester and second semester was a bit tough, tough in the sense that the system was new to me. I scaped through this with the help of God.
300L came with its own challenge, but with all the challenges, I was not deformed. 400L experience was totally different because at that time I went for industrial training and I met a lot of people whom I am grateful to God for.
LAUTECH journey was not easy, but I must confess to you that God has been good. Strike upon strike till I finished from LAUTECH. I must tell you that the school has come back to normal. I gained admission in the year 2012 and I graduated in the year 2018. I spent almost six years for a five year course. The journey has been rough, but full of experience, tough but full of God's mercy.
Also, I am a student of leadership, during my stay in school I learnt a lot about leadership and I am still learning till now. Not only that I empty my pocket into my brain, like someone said,
"Empty the coins of your purse into your mind and your mind will fill your purse with coins".
That is it. Anyone who wants to make it in life must start early enough even while on campus. This and many more I engaged in school to add value to myself.
I must not finish this memoir without telling you the power of accountability. If there is anything that helped me when I was on campus, it's accountability. I was accountable to my brother, like minded friends, mentors and my pastors in school. If you want to succeed in any area of life, you cannot do without accountability. I want to encourage students to be accountable, focused, consistent and be patient. Stand for God irrespective of circumstances or challenges. God is always there for his own.
To the glory of God, I graduated successfully with a CGPA of 4.68 (first class) on a scale level of 5.0, without compromising my stand. I stood for God, and God proved himself to be God. If God could do it for me, He can do it for anyone who trusts in him.
