There are special people in our lives for everyone. Today I present about such a person. He is a creative writer as well as a popular writer and scholar who weaves the story around his life. He name is Mr. Martin wikramasinghe
His born is Koggala in.29 may 1890 and he lived in koggala village .
Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe wrote the novel Leela in 1914 and became a writer. He was the editor of Lakmina, Dinamina and Silumina newspapers.
Wickramasinghe's literary service spans novels, short stories, science fiction, animal education, and criticism. But he became more famous as a novelist. Martin Wickramasinghe is known as the most important writer in the history of Sinhala novels. He was so called because the novel 'Gamperaliya' published in 1944 changed the existing novel literature in the country in a different direction.
Gamperaliya's novel has the artistic elements that a new story should contain, successful character portrayals, a broad social outlet and a realistic style. Then came the completion of the three-part novel "Yuganthaya" and "Kaliyugaya".
The novel "Viragaya" published in 1956 was acclaimed by critics and Russians as Wickramasinghe's artistic novel.
Martin Wickramasinghe has authored numerous books in Sri Lanka, including four children's books, six biology books, four additional reading books, fourteen novels, eleven short stories, four plays, a poem titled "Theri Gee", and twenty-three critical books. Has done.
Mr. Wickramasinghe received the "Literary Chakravarthy" Award and the "Presidential Literary Award". In addition, he received the British O.B.E Award.
Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe passed away in July 1976.
