Hi Steemians,

I have been trying the Lumie SAD lamp for about a month now and would like to share my thoughts about it with you.

Why SAD Lamps?

SAD Lamps simulate the brightness of sunlight and can help with energy levels and bad mood, especially in the winter months. The bright light decreases the production of melatonin, which is a hormone that makes you sleepy, and increases the production of serotonin, which regulates your mood.

I initially ordered this light because I just couldn't snap out of my tiredness for weeks, no matter how much I slept I got up tired, couldn't concentrate and was moody. Normally in the winter I go tanning every so often but because if the lockdown here in England this isn't possible.

This light is so much brighter than any other light I own. it is recommended that you sit in front of it for 30 minutes a day with it being 16 centimetres away from your face which is quite close.

I often put it in my music stand of my keyboard and just have it shine at me while I am practicing and I feel much more focused when I use it. Also it drastically improved my sleepiness and I love working with it on.

Remember this light doesn't have UV light in it, so doesn't replace the sun entirely but rather stimulates your brain the way bright sunlight would. It won't stimulate Vitamin D production so don't forget to supplement that!
