Good evening beautiful people!!
I'm here to participate on the on-going contest of the Best moment of my life..
Best moments of our lives create within us memories that can't be easily wiped or forgotten.
This particular moment, has positive impacts on us which when remembered,,one would want such times or things to be repeated..
As regards to the above ,,the best moment of my life was the period I first experienced working for a firm and earning a salary. That was during my Industrial Training (IT) days.
It all started in the year 2017,,when I first graduated as an Ordinary National Diploma Holder, from a polytechnic,(Institute of Management and Technology,Enugu).. Polytechnics made it that immediately after the first two years of an individual's studies in the school,,one has to go for an Industrial Training e.i ,, working for a firm,,just to practicalize what the said individual has learnt in the School for the past two years.
So I gained admission into the above mentioned school in the year 2015..I completed my ND studies in 2016 then 2017 was the said and actual year for my IT,,that was after my school clearance..
In January 2017,, immediately we returned from our Christmas holiday,,I went in search of a firm that would employ me..
I singlehandedly did the job-hunt..I was born into a family of Six ,,of which I 'm the last of all.All through my life I've always depended on my parents and siblings to do all things for me...At first ,,my people kicked against my Working-idea,saying that I wasn't strong and old enough to go face the challenges of being an employee,I was 18years then, but with several persuasions and convinctions, they permitted me to go for the job-search for all I needed then was just to have that experience of being an employee,, because I've been hearing lots of my friends discussing all their working experiences even while we were still in school,,so I wished then to be like them. Therefore,,I promised myself that I must have a taste of it during my IT,, which I did.
Fast forward to when I went in search of the job,,I wrote my Application Letter,,my CV was ready.I went to different public and private firms,,schools etc for my documents' submission,,which many promised to get back to me as soon as possible..All I needed was just to work, the amount that I'll be paid wasn't an issue,,I just wanted to have a taste of being an employee..
So as God may have it,,after a week of my submission to a firm,Onna Nigeria Enterprise, located at No 4 Factory Raod Aba,Key Distributors of Nigerian Brewery,I was called for an interview and I was asked to resumed work a day after my interview.I was just too happy.
My first day at work was very weird and every activity assigned to me seemed difficult and impossible ,,but I believed that the difficulties were as a result of first experience coupled with the fact that I believed that since others are doing them,,I too can .
When I got home that night,I was just too exhausted and my parents and siblings pittied me,,I just took my bath, ate and slept,,so as to get ready for the next day,, because I was never ready to quit.
Subsequently,,I got used to the work,,made friends,,loved my Madam, and above all,,I just loved the fact that at that point I was able earn a salary,,that particular experience was massive .. Although I never depended on my salaries,I still depended on my parents for feeding and all..I just wanted to save my salaries so as to accumulate to a huge amount..
Yes,,the first salary was not that much ,but I was too satisfied with it then,,10,000 Nigerian Naira,,plus an additional transportation fee..
After some months of work in the Main Office at 4 Factory Raod,,I was transferred to one of our branches at Cemetery market Aba,,to manage..
This was the first day in my newly transfered branch.. Even if I delete other pictures from my phone,,I"d promised myself never to delete this particular one because its takes me down the memory lane each time I look at it
I never knew I had some managerial skills ,untill I was transferred to this said branch..
I did the work of a receptionist,,a manager, and an accountant aswell..My Madam was just too impressed with my abilities,,and she promised to increase my salary if I continue that way..
As time goes on,,my salary was increased to 15,000 Nigerian Naira,,and that was an added motivation for me..
Me posing in my office
As time goes on,,I was even surprised at my abilities..I thank God for giving me those abilities..
Yes,,I faced few challenges then as a manager but I was still grateful to God for giving me the grace to overcome those challenges..
I worked there for a year,,until it was time to go back to school. So I quited the job and furthered my education..
Since then,, whenever my peers are talking about their working-experiences,,I'll gladly share mine without hesitation..
Thanks @bright-obias for this great opportunity
